Guest Designer - From the Heart Stamps - Sketch Challenge 071

Hello, everyone!
I hope you are having a wonderful day! I am very excited to share this weeks card post as Guest Designer for From the Heart Stamps! Woohoo!
I am having a great time playing along with their talented design team each week!
Not only does From the Heart Stamps have some incredibly adorable images, but each week at From the Heart Stamps Blog a sketch challenge is held. It is called a Sketch Challenge with a tWiSt: a sketch is provided, but so is an additional requirement. Don't worry.....no need to feel overwhelmed with rules and restrictions! You can choose to use the sketch, OR you can create using the tWiSt....or you can do BOTH! :)
Here is this weeks sketch:

Sketch with a tWiSt #071
tWiSt: Spotlight Technique

Here's a really cool thing about this sketch challenges: EVERYONE IS A WINNER! You can earn a $1 discount code toward any digi image in their store. No, not by being a random winner, but just by entering! And even better, yet.......you can use multiple codes toward purchases in their store! So, if you play three weeks in a row, you can buy a new digi for only $ .50! Play four times in a row, and "buy" a new digi with all four of your codes without spending a dime out of your own pocket!
See......I told you that everyone is a winner there! :)

Here's another cool thing about From the Heart Stamps.......they also run a month-long challenge in addition to their weekly sketch challenges. "Why is that cool?" you ask??? Because if you use the monthly image, you will be emailed next months image
FOR FREE!

Okay....now that I've explained my excitement about this great digi-stamp company, let's move on to my card for this week.  I really struggled this week with the sketch. it was one of those sketches that just was not falling in line with Mr. Mojo, you know?! Add on the fact that it was a last-minute card coming home from a vaca only two days prior to deadline.......well, enough whining, right?! Let's get on with it! lol!

This week I am using the sketch AND the tWiSt. :)

I chose to play with the super chic Bunny Hello image on my card. I colored my image digitally, with PSE. I did do the Spotlight Technique, using a window shape. I created my card base, window layers and 'hello' with my Silhouette Portrait. I added a few punched butterflies and some rhinestones to bling it up a bit.
The inside of the card contains my image and a sentiment.

I hope you enjoy your day! I appreciate you stopping by, and would love it if you'd leave a comment!
I hope you'll join us for the sketch challenge!
Thanks for stopping!
Happy Crafting!

Freebie Friday at Bugaboo Stamps

It's Friday.......time for a Bugaboo Stamps Freebie!
It can be picked up in the store for FREE, but only for a limited time! Be sure to check out the other fun images that Jodie has to offer at Bugaboo Stamps! There's a little something for everyone, and they're all sure to put a smile on someone's face! :)

I colored my image with my Prisma Color Pencils......*GASP!*!....What?!..... That's right! I did NOT use my PSE software for coloring today! I know, right?! Hahaha! Yeah, just seeing if you've been paying attention. ;)
Anyhow, I did color with my pencils. I scanned my image into my handy-dandy 'puter because I wanted to use this cute little basket cut file I made. I love 'topper' digis combined with cutting files, it's like the best of both worlds to me! :)
I opened my scanned image into my Silhouette software, and opened my basket to size everything accordingly. I cut two versions of the image, one with the chicks, to use as the base, and one without for layering with pop dots for some dimension.
I cut some grass with my Impression Obsession die, and I cut some colored Easter Eggs, which are tucked into the grass layers.

Here's a side view to show the dimension better:
It's a little blurry, but I think the point is conveyed.

Pick this up as a freebie for a limited time only, over at the Bugaboo Stamps Store, and make sure you also jump over to the Catch the Bug Challenge Blog: it's where you can find out all the lastest "dish" on what challenges are happening and what other challenge sites that Bugaboo is sponsoring (more chances to win some free Bugaboo!). It's also where you can check out all the other fantastic DT projects, including the OBG (Oldie But Goodie) stuff, the ABC (Anything But a Card) items, and the Tuesday New Releases......plus so much more!
Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today! I hope you'll kindly leave a comment, or become a follower. If I know you were here, I can come to visit you, as well.

Easter and an Announcement

Hi, everyone!
I hope you are enjoying the beginning of the weekend!
I took some time to work on a card sketch, from the From the Heart Stamps Blog.

Here's the sketch I worked with.

They offer a choice of using the sketch, or using the tWist. The tWist this week is dry embossing, which I ended up not doing. I used the sketch, and that was good for me, today! :)

The awesome design team for From the heart Stamps recently had a blog hop, and I was an image winner for leaving my comment on one of their blogs along the way. This is made with the image I won, called Easter Egg Tulips. So pretty for an Easter card!

I did my usual Print and Cut with my Silhouette Portrait machine. I also cut a bunny shape, and the small egg shape. The bunny was cut with Kraft, and I used some ink and a sponge applicator to add some darker brown on him, as well as my journaling pen to add a face. The egg is lightly inked around the edges, and daubed a bit to make it look a bit less bright white. I wish I could tell you where my papers come from. They were pieces in my stash, and since I don't remember buying them, I think they were sent to my in a swap. :)

Before I go, I also have an announcement to make: I have been selected to serve as a Guest Designer for From the Heart Stamps in June and July! How exciting! I am really looking forward to that, and hope that you will follow along on my journey there when the time comes! In the meantime, I will continue using some of their images for some sketch challenges and monthly challenges. If you haven't seen their monthly challenge before, be sure to check it out: by using the Stamp of the Month image, which you can pick up in store if you don't already have it, you will automatically be sent the next months Stamp of the Month! I think that is so great, don't you?!

Hope to see you on their site playing along with their fun challenges!
Happy Crafting!

The garland was cut with a Marianne Die, the flowers were all punched with some EK Success Punches. My wavy borders were also from an EK Success Punch. The circles were cut wth my nesties, and my paper is from my stash (another oldie that's been lingering in the piles! lol!). I added the pearls as flower centers to keep it light and "fresh" feeling. :)

So, you've seen what I've done with the freebie, now it's your turn......so go pick it up at the Bugaboo Stamps Store, and get to it......it's only available free for this week! ;0)

I chose to use the new Blossom image for my card. I really like the animal characters that ARTish has been drawing, don't you?! They're so fun to color, and have so many possibilities! I wasn't certain my piercing was going to show up well in my photo, but if you enlarge it by clicking on the image, I think you will be able to see it all. :0)
I just love the sentiment for this image, too, don't you?!

This card has been entered into the following challenges:

This is just one of the two new releases by ARTish today! There is also an uber-adorable bunny with some carrots. In addition, Paper Pretties has a new illustrator, Fawn Palmer, and she has some new releases on the site today, as well! :0) I made a second card, using Fawn's Little Duckling image - so cute for an Easter and Spring card!

This card has been entered into the following challenges:

I did some digital piecing on the egg, no piercing on this card. I used my Nesties dies for the image and scalloped oval shapes, my EK Success punches for the border, some ribbon, digital paper I printed out and my Copics (yes.....you read that correct! lol! I used my Copics!) I added a few ribbon flowers for some dimension and embellish. :0)

You can hop on over to the Paper Pretties Store to pick up this cutie, and the other new release, and then head on over to the challenge blog to enter your card!
You could win three
Paper Pretties Digis of your choice!
