Hang in there!

Hi, everyone!
I've been spending time organizing and creating in my craft room today (not necessarily in that order! lol!). I put together some encouraging cards for my stash. This one features the Doodle Pantry Kite Ants. The digital image kit includes sentiments, so I used one of them, as well, feeling it was perfect for what I was aiming to do....put a smile on a frowny-face!
I'm entering this into the Doodle Panty Monthly Challenge.

I had picked up the great papers from JoAnn on one of my more recent shopping spress. They are from the Heidi Grace SunShowers Paper Pad. I used my Silhouette Studio oftware to print and cut the image, and some Fiskars Cloud punches (after running my paper through my Big Shot with a Swiss Dots embossing folder).

That's all for now! I'll be back again soon with more cards to post, I'm sure! In the meantime, feel free to stay and browse some of my other posts! :)

An Oldie But Goodie

Hi, everyone!
Thursday's are Oldie But Goodie Days at Catch the Bug Blog!
I love OBG day because I can break out some of my favorite Bugaboo Stamps to play with, and have an excuse to show them on my blog! lol! As if I need an excuse, right?!
Today I am using one of the Balloon Critter images,  Balloon Critter - Monkey.
For several weeks, earlier this year, it seemed as if the old adage, "when it rains, it pours" was reeking havoc on just about everyone I know. There were all kinds of serious illnesses, accidents, injuries.....every person I know seems to have been touched by a troubles. I ended up making some "Hang In There" cards, just trying to give some encouragement, small gesture as it was!

For this card, I kept things CAS. I admit - it was put together in five minutes. I was in a big hurry to run out the door, but wanted to not leave empty handed. So, I grabbed a dp from my stash, some mini-pennants (from my EK Success Mini Pennant Punches) that were floating around on my craft table from previous projects, and a couple of heart rhinestones. I was in such a hurry, I drew the pennant line on, instead of using some twine. (Yikes!).
My hope is that as you are reading this, life everywhere is calming down for those of us dealing with troubles! While I hope you are not one of these, maybe my card can put a smile on your face even if you are. As Tiny Tim would say, "God Bless Us, Every One!".

You can check out all the great images that Jodie has to offer, at the Bugaboo Store here.

Thanks for stopping by today! Make sure to check out the other OBG creations over at Catch the Bug, and visit the Design Team....you can click on their blog links located in the left side bar of my blog for great Bugaboo eye candy! <<===========
Please feel free to browse my blog, I'd love to be your inspiration for your next project! :0) If you're not already a follower, and like what I create, please consider following me! :0) ====>>

I won! How Uplifting!

Hi, everyone!
I had a great surprise this morning in Blogland.....I had entered a card into the Fresh Brewed Designs Caffeine Crazy Challenge the other day, and was so happy to have won three digi's from the Fresh Brewed Shop! Woohoo! (Here's my original post for the card I had entered).
One of the images I picked was Java Hot Air Balloon. I knew when I saw it exactly what I wanted to do with it (I LOVE when that happens, don't you?!). It is a CAS card, not like me, but this is actually what I pictured, so I'm glad it worked out! lol!

I used four of the image, each sized differently, and then created my cloud background in PhotoShop. If you look closely at the balloons, the brown strips of the balloon are made up of a bunch of coffee beans. I was sorry I lost the detail of the beans when I shrunk my balloons down enough to have them all in the space I needed. :0(  My image and the base layer for it were cut using Spellbinders dies. I've been stuck on these decled rectangles for a week, or so. I just love them! I added the flags using some CTMH Waxy Flax. I like it a little better than hemp twine - you can shape it and it stays a bit better. It's a lot like dental floss. lol!
I used my new EK Success Mini Pendants punch for my flags, and Sizzix Strip for the alphabet letters.

That's it, folks! Just quick and simple again today! If you like my card, please consider checking out my other creations, and I'd love to have you follow me. ======>>
PLease leave a comment so I can come by to do the same for you on your page! :0)

Drum Roll, please!

Hi, everyone!
I bet you're wondering what the heck I mean by my post title today, aren't you?! What on earth could I possibly need a drum roll for???? Well..........in all my excitement regarding my Bugaboo announcement the other day, I forgot to mention the reason behind the REST of my giddiness! I am now on the design team for Paper Pretties! Woohoo!!! Bet you didn't see that coming, did you?! lol!
Today is my "debut" for them! :0)

Every Monday, Paper Pretties has a digital image release and a challenge. They release two new images, complete with sentiments! This week they have this adorable mouse and hippo:
Zaza Zumba Hippo

Simmons the Mouse

I chose to use the new release image, ZaZa Zumba Hippo on my card. I love Paper Pretties cuties - all of the new images include sentiments to go along with them, and I think that makes finishing a card just that much easier, don't you?! :0)

The challenge theme we need to have you follow this week is
Clean and Simple (CAS)
Head on over to the challenge blog to enter your CAS card! You could win three
Paper Pretties Digis of your choice!

As many of you already know - CAS cards are not my favorite, but I tried! lol!
I always feel like they aren't "done"! lol!
I used up a bunch of scraps, including the card base. I added a few stickers from a cute pack by Ek Success Sticko that were given to me for Christmas.

.....And there you have it! :0)
Now make sure to check out the rest of the wonderful design team members of Paper Pretties, and
don't forget to stop by the store to pick up one of the new releases! The DT blog links are located in my left sidebar for you!

It's Freebie Friday at Bugaboo Stamps!

Hi, everyone!
It's Friday, and that means that Jodie has a new Freebie Friday image posted over at Bugaboo Stamps! She's done it again.....another great image! She's amazing, I tell you! This weeks freebie is from her "A Kid's View" line of images, called AKV Boxing, and below is my card. You can always go check out the other super-fantastic "stuffs" that the rest of the Bugaboo team came up with by clicking on their links in the blog roll in the right sidebar ================ >>

I used some of my old SCWV "All About Boys" paper as the base for this card. I colored my image in PSE, printed him and then added some shadowing with my SU markers in various places.  The sentiment is something I made in PSE. I've been on a kick with making encouragment/congratulations cards the past few days, and thought this sentiment worked nicely for the image. :0) My boxing gloves were created by coloring in some line art I found online, then printing and cutting with my new Cameo. (Yep! I have a new Cameo AND a new eClips! Crazy, I know!) I added some paper glaze to the gloves to try to make them look like leather. I think they turned out okay, what do you think??

Make sure you hurry over to the store to pick up the free digi-stamp, as it's only available for a limited time as a freebie! While you're there, don't miss the 50% OFF SALE that Jodie has posted...time is running out on for you to pick up some super sweet Bugaboo images at  super sweet price!

Trying something new.....

Hi, everyone!
I have seen the circle easel cards around the blogs, and have always wanted to try one, but never took the time to do it. Today, I was feeling like doing something "different", so here's a card I made using the quick, and super easy, tutorial by Beate.

I used a Doodle Pantry image called Hang in There. I learned another new technique in PSE today, too, and that is to warp the text, so I did just that to my sentiment. :0) I created my Circle easel Card, then added some Prima Flowers, punched rock fern leaves that are inked, and some brads.
Easy-peasy, right?! It was, actually.....just follow the link to Beate's instructions so you can make one, too!
