This is my second post today....for the post that I made a vinyl cut from a digi stamp, please scroll down.
I recently decided to dive into the world of Copics. Iknow, I know....pencils have always been my thing, and then digital coloringon PSE, but I love what everyone does with Copics, and I want to learn how to use them, so I made some purchases!
Bugaboo Stamps has a challenge blog, Catch the Bug Challenge Blog, and they also host a Wacky Wednesday Challenge each week on PCP and CDAC. I picked up this cute Rottweiler Puppy image to decorate my dog cookie jar this week, and decided to make a couple cards with him, as well. I used the Wacky Wednesday Sketch Challenge #9 at PCP and CDAC, and I also chose to enter the "Clean and Simple" challenge on the challenge blog.
Here is this weeks sketch
And here is my first-ever card that I used Copics for the image:
Here's the Copic colors I used:
I used some papers that I've had in my stash for a long time. They are by Paperbilities. I had messed up the saying when I first put the card together....it said, "If you can't run with the big dogs, stay off the porch!". Yep........made no sense at all! lol! I had it backwards! So, I made a new sentiment and glued it on top of the old. A lesson I learned with this card - when using a Xyron, don't rush......take time to use a blade around your paper to remove the edge adhesive a little. Apparently, not doing this leaves gooey stuff that picked up on my scanner. You can see some grey and black "spots" along some of my layer edges? Yeah....that's the adhesive. :0( I promise, it looks much better in "real" life.
For my border, I used two of my EK Success Edger punches, Stars and Wavy Dots. The sentiment was printed from PSE and punched with an EK Success Label punch.
