Anything But a Card......a Halloween Banner of Cute Spooks!

It's an ABC (Anything But a Card) Day over at Catch the Bug, and it's my turn to create something! :0) I always have a difficult time coming up with projects for ABC Day. I don't have any little ones at my house (my son is 21, and just does not appreciate good paper crafty stuff, ya' know?!). I never know what on earth to do with my goodies once I'm done with them. Hubby keeps every card I give him, and if I start giving him 3D paper objects.....well......I just have no idea where the man will pile them up! lol! Anyhow, it's always a tough day for me to create for my DT assignments, but I am giving it a go!
With Halloween being my favorite holiday of the year (yes, even more-so than Christmas!), and making sag files one of my favorite things to do, I decided to create this Halloween Banner with some sag files that I made using some of the Bugaboo Stamps Halloween Bobblehead images!
I just LOVE the Bobbleheads, and paper piecing these together was so fun!

Note: Cutting files for this project were created with special permission from the copyright holder of each image. Copyright belongs to Bugaboo Stamps.

The other pieces of my banner were created from a Silhouette Studio file. I cut my patterned paper, then adhered it to card stock that was also cut to the same shape. This gave each flag a little more strength, so they won't tear or bend easily.

I blinged up some of the parts of the characters with some Stickles, as well as doing a lot of inking and gel pen work for details.
Here's a closer look at each of my paper piecings on this banner:

Bingo!, Boo! and Bling!

It's Saturday, which means a new challenge over at Catch the Bug today! We are hosting our monthly B-I-N-G-O Card Challenge!

Without further ado , here is this weeks Catch the Bug
Bingo Card:

Isn't this BINGO Card SPOOK-tacular?! So many choices!
You may choose three squares: horizontal, vertical, or diagonal!

For my BINGO squares, I chose to use the "Ghost", "Player's Choice" (I picked the "Bugaboo Image") and the "Glitter"
My card features the Bugaboo Stamps Halloween Peeker - Ghost 2 image. I turned my digi into a cutting file (with permission!). I added the "Boo!" to the image, and used some Stickles to glam up the candy corn cuts, and also on my spider web flourish. If you look close enough, you may even be able to pick up the glimmer of the spiders red eyes.

Fall is in the Air!

It's Saturday, which means a new challenge over at Catch the Bug today!

This week's theme is
Fall/Autumn

It's nice to have some fall color on the trees, some crisp mornings and I love the change of the winds at this time of year! For our challenge this week, we want you to tap into the season! However the Autumn Season inspires you, we want to see it in your project!

Today I am using the Brat Autumn Pumpkin image from Bugaboo Stamps.  He is doing one of our favorite traditions, it seems......which is picking out the pumpkin!!

I colored him in PhotoShop Elements. I've been working on my shadows and shading more, but I made the mistake of photographing this card next to my tall candy jar, so the light reflected shadows off the jar onto my card, and it detracts from the shadows I actually colored. :( Oops! I would have used one of my back up pics, but they turned out fuzzy! My batteries must be running low, or something.
Anyhow, I cropped off part of my image base at an angle, then added a couple banners and brads. I had some small leaves ready to put on the card, too, but they just weren't working out. Ever have those days??

Now it's your turn to pick a favorite image, or try something new from Bugaboo Stamps, whip up your project and head on over to enter it into the Mr. Linky!

By entering your project, you could win up to TEN Bugaboo images!

This image is called AKV Witch Broom.
I colored her in Photoshop Elements. I created the gradient background, stars and moon glow, and arched sentiment in PSE, also. I printed it out and added a Halloween Hill die cut (Impression Obsession). I colored in the windows and pumpkin face with a marker. matted all to a black mat, and voila! Done!

Pick this up as a freebie for a limited time only, over at the Bugaboo Stamps Store, and make sure you also jump over to the Catch the Bug Challenge Blog: it's where you can find out all the lastest "dish" on what challenges are happening and what other challenge sites that Bugaboo is sponsoring (more chances to win some free Bugaboo!). Anything Goes at Catch the Bug!

Hi, everyone! Happy Saturday!

Today is a new challenge day at Catch the Bug Blog, featuring all kinds of sweet Bugaboo Stamps images! Since it's the first Saturday of the month at Catch the Bug, it's an
Anything Goes
theme for our challenge this week!

Make sure you hop on by to check out all the wonderful DT eye-candy, and we hope you join us for the fun!

This card features the image Halloween Peeker Cat from Bugaboo Stamps

I started by coloring the image in PSE. I added the sentiment, also in PSE. I used my A2 Curved Edge Die from Simon Says Stamp to cut the edges of my designer paper, which are by K&Co., and my image. I added two pony bead dots that I  made (you can see my tutorial for that process here). I matted everything on some dark purple scrap that I found in my scrap box, and called this a cutie-patootie-done-dealio! :)

Now it's your turn to pick a favorite image, or try something new from Bugaboo Stamps, whip up your project and head on over to enter it into the Mr. Linky!

A New Release at Bugaboo Stamps!

It's Tuesday.......time for a Bugaboo Stamps New Release! Jodie's been hard at work on some great images, and this Scene It - Halloween Brats Sign image is just one of them! They are counting down to the haunting day! How cute!!

I typed up the open in the sign in PSE, as well as colored my image in PSE. I added some punched bats and a spider (EK Success mini punches). I left this large so the details would show up more. CAS, and ready for the upcoming holiday!

Pick up this, and the other new release images, over at the Bugaboo Stamps Store, and make sure you also jump over to the Catch the Bug Challenge Blog: it's where you can find out all the lastest "dish" on what challenges are happening and what other challenge sites that Bugaboo is sponsoring (more chances to win some free Bugaboo!). A Photo Inspiration to Motivate Mr. Mojo

It's Saturday, which means a new challenge over at Catch the Bug today!

This week's theme is a
Photo Inspiration
(See picture toward the bottom of my post)
It's nice to have some visual inspiration, sometimes! You can choose to use the colors, the theme of the photo, or go off on a tangent because of some emotion a photo touches within your soul....however this picture inspires you, we want to see it in your project!

Today I am using the Dottie Baking image from Bugaboo Stamps.  If you've followed me for some time you know that Dottie is my favorite of the Characters that Jodie creates. She's so much fun to color! I had not used this one for quite some time, and with my recent purchase of this border for my Silhouette machine, I thought they made a great pair.

I didn't want the border to take focus away from the image, so I created it in the darker color and left it flat and unembellished (for the most part). I did do a little bit of fine lining on it, but even that remained subtle. Dottie is popped up on pop dots to give her the dimension and the focus I was going for, while my melted Perel bead in the lower right corner draws your eye to my silly sentiment. :)
