Rumble in your tummy?

It's Saturday, which means a new challenge over at Catch the Bug today!
This week's theme is
Food
It's November, the time when we are normally thinking of comfort foods to ward off the chills, and mentally making our shopping list and to-do list for the upcoming feast. I took a different route for my card, though. I needed to add a birthday card to my stash of cards, so I made one with cupcakes and cakes in mind!

This is my first time inking up this great Chef Pierre - Cake image. I colored him in PSE, then used my Spellbinders A2 Curved Borders dies to cut the edge of the image layer. I have to say, this is definitely not one of my favorite cards, of late. I thought I was being clever by adding some shadowing behind him and the sentiment, but I've decided it just isn't working for me the way I had intended, so that is probably the last time I will do that (the way I did it, that is. I have 'other' shading techniques that I think I like better). Anyhow. I used some busy papers, and hindsight is 20/20.....I should have added some bold solids to break them up more because I'm not liking how busy this card turned out, either; thus, the hand-drawn dash along the edge of the image layer. Hmmmm.....should I have posted this?! lol! Geez....

Well, I have shared with you my not-so-great card for todays theme challenge, now..... let's see your creation this week! Whip up your project and head on over to Catch the Bugto play along, enter it into the Mr. Linky located at the bottom of the challenge post!

A Sweet Thank You OBG

Hi, everyone!
Thursday's are Oldie But Goodie Days at Catch the Bug Blog
I love OBG day because I can break out some of my favorite Bugaboo Stamps to play with, and have an excuse to show them on my blog! lol! (As if I need an excuse, right?!)

Today I am using the Cupcake Cherry on Top from Bugaboo Stamps.  Doesn't this look delicious!? I think I gained ten pounds while I was coloring this one up! lol!

This is a CAS, clean and simple, card. My son told me it was "boring", and he said, "I'm not 'about' all that white, mom". I'm not even sure what that means. lol!
I like the way my Glossy Accents look on the chocolate and sprinkles. I was disappointed in myself for putting my "you" word a bit crooked. I really should slow down when working with the skinny phrases!

This one is out the door, already. :) A cyber-friend sent me a message the other day asking for some help choosing a card for a dt assignment she had to do. She started her message with some very kind words about me "being so creative", or something along those lines. I had been having some down-in-the-dumps days, and those little words, and the fact that she thought I could help (I think I did, and I hope I did!) really made my day! It was wonderful to open up a nice message first thing in the morning! :)

For my card today, I've used the Bugaboo Stamps image, Birthday Clown 2
This is another image that I had colored and printed, in my stack of images, and it was crying out to me to use it! I had never made a card this size before, and when I saw the elongated shape of the sketch base this week, I thought,....."why not?!". So, here is my little clown, complete with a "wish" for the birthday recipient (that is yet to be determined! lol!). I hope you like him! :0)

Material List
DCWV Papers
EK Success Punches - Cupcake Chain, Mini Pendant
MS Punch - Gift Border
Spellbinders - Dekled Mega Long Rectangles
CTMH Waxy Flax
Prima Flowers
Rhinestones

Here's the sketch to follow:

An OBG Cupcake Card for Catch the Bug

Hi, everyone!
Thursday's are Oldie But Goodie Days at Catch the Bug Blog!
I was drooling over this card while I was creating, so pardon any slobber marks! ;0) Mmmmm......cupcakes are so yummy!!
This image is called Cupcake - Word Block.

The card is made using a MS Corner and border punch to create the nested mats. I added some Stickles to bling up the cupcake image, and a few Boutique Brads that I have had "forever" in my stash.
For coloring theimage, I used PSE, but got a little creative with the colors of the words on this block - it was a fun exercise using the Magic Wand Tool!

You can check out all the great images that Jodie has to offer, at the Bugaboo Store here.

Anything Goes at Catch the Bug and a Free SVG Shaped Card File!

It's Saturday, which means a new challenge over at Catch the Bug today! This is always a favorite among us crafters because it gives us free reign!

This week's theme is
Anything Goes

My card features a Bugaboo Stamps character that Jodie recently released several images of: this is the

This pic shows the shaped cupcake card that is your freebie svg today, for a very limited time (download link available below)!
These SVG files are no longer available for free.
Please visit my SVG's for Sale Page located at the top of this blog.
The pink is actually the envelope, and the card is tucked inside it. Below are more photos to help you see the way it is all put together, as there is not a direction sheet in the file folder download.
The file consists of the folding card base, a "frosting" layer, a "cupcake holder" layer, and the "sleeve" envelope. It also contains a second svg for a card liner (it was an afterthought, and ended up as it's own svg file. :0) )
The file does not have the circle windows cut into it - this is something I did with my Spellbinders. It was a real pain in the behind, and I doubt I'll ever do that again. lol!

This image shows the card pulled out of the cupcake sleeve envelope.
The "Happy Birthday" is a Sizzlit die. I left the top part of "Happy" unglied to tuck the card top into to keep it closed when the whole thing is put together. This could also be done with flowers, brads.....almost any embellish you would like to use!

This pic shows the card opened up. Edward is wishing the recipient a Happy Birthday, and I have left myself some space to write a personal note. :0)
You can see I had a little issue with lining up my frosting and card base circle cuts. They do much better without those darned things! lol! While it was a pain, I am still happy with the way this turned out. I think it could be such an adorable card for a birthday, and can't wait to see what ways I can dream up to decorate my frosting on future cuts!
As always, if you create something with my files, please send me a note - I'd love to see what you do! :0)

So, what your "Anything Goes" this week?! Whip up your project and head on over to enter it into the Mr. Linky!

By entering your project, you could win up to SEVEN Bugaboo images!
