Bugaboo Stamps 5th Birthday Celebration Week Kickoff!!

Hi, everyone!

Today is a very special day.........it is the beginning of the
Bugaboo Stamps 5th Birthday Bash Week!

I know you didn't expect to see any craftiness out of me for a while, what with taking a break to manage some other things in life, but I could not let this date pass without wishing Bugaboo Stamps  a very big
Happy Birthday!!
Bugaboo Stamps is responsible, in part, for my love of digis, afterall! Jodie creates some AMAZING images every week! When she says there's "something for everyone" in her store, she's not kidding! Not only is she an incredibly talented artist, but she is also super sweet! I am very proud to be part of her team of talented designers, and glad to call her a friend.
Jodie......a big, huge cyber-hug to you on this momentous milestone!!

Okay. okay.....enough "mooshy-gooshy" from me, right?! lol!! I will stop with it, already, and move on to my card for the day.

To kick off the week, we are having a
Birthday Big-Top BINGO Challenge!

My card uses one of the images out of the Mini Set - Birthday Girl. I had not used her before today, and I think she is simply precious, don't you?!
I chose to use the BINGO Squares: Balloons, Stripes, Bright Colors.
You can join in the fun by choosing your three squares for your creation, and then posting it over on the Catch the Bug Blog Inlinkz for a chance to win some great prizes!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Rumble in your tummy?

It's Saturday, which means a new challenge over at Catch the Bug today!
This week's theme is
Food
It's November, the time when we are normally thinking of comfort foods to ward off the chills, and mentally making our shopping list and to-do list for the upcoming feast. I took a different route for my card, though. I needed to add a birthday card to my stash of cards, so I made one with cupcakes and cakes in mind!

This is my first time inking up this great Chef Pierre - Cake image. I colored him in PSE, then used my Spellbinders A2 Curved Borders dies to cut the edge of the image layer. I have to say, this is definitely not one of my favorite cards, of late. I thought I was being clever by adding some shadowing behind him and the sentiment, but I've decided it just isn't working for me the way I had intended, so that is probably the last time I will do that (the way I did it, that is. I have 'other' shading techniques that I think I like better). Anyhow. I used some busy papers, and hindsight is 20/20.....I should have added some bold solids to break them up more because I'm not liking how busy this card turned out, either; thus, the hand-drawn dash along the edge of the image layer. Hmmmm.....should I have posted this?! lol! Geez....

Well, I have shared with you my not-so-great card for todays theme challenge, now..... let's see your creation this week! Whip up your project and head on over to Catch the Bugto play along, enter it into the Mr. Linky located at the bottom of the challenge post!
By entering your project, you could win up to TEN Bugaboo images!

Pick up this cute Bugaboo image, and others, over at the Bugaboo Stamps Store, and make sure you also jump over to the Catch the Bug Challenge Blog: it's where you can find out all the lastest "dish" on what challenges are happening and what other challenge sites that Bugaboo is sponsoring (more chances to win some free Bugaboo!). This image is called Birthday Clown 3.
I colored him in PSE. My big scallop borders are from a Spellbinders Die, Classic Borders One. I cut my sentiment piece with a Sizzlits die, Phrase, Celebrate #2. Papers are all from my stash, and were pieces of stuff I had around from past projects, so I am not sure the manufacturer on those, today.

BINGO Saturday at Catch the Bug

It's Saturday, which means a new challenge over at Catch the Bug today! We are hosting our monthly B-I-N-G-O Card Challenge!

Without further ado , here is this weeks Catch the Bug
Bingo Card:
Isn't this BINGO Card the coolest?! So many choices!
You may choose three squares: horizontal, vertical, or diagonal!

I chose to use the far left column of requirements for my card this week
(Ribbon, Button, Stripes). Okay....so I am really stretching the definition of "ribbon" by using twine, but......you'll give me a 'pass' for that, right?! :)
My card features the Bugaboo Stamps Bird Greetings Sweet Bird-day image. I used my Silhouette Print and Cut for him, after coloring him in PSE.
My papers are all from my scrap box. I pieced them together and wrapped the twine around them, then added my button. The panel is attached with pop-dots to the card base. I attached the bird with pop-dots, too, but had to stack the dots, two-high, to make sure it wasn't bent out of shape because the dp panel was up higher, already. I don't normally give my cards this much dimension, simply because they require special envelopes, and also additional postage. I will say that I do think it turned out well, and I will just bit the bullet on the 'specials', this time. ;)

To give the bird a bit more celebratory 'bling', I added some Stickles
and a bit of Glossy Accents.

A Riley & Co Birthday Card - 2nd Post Today

Hi, everyone!
Happy Friday! This is my second post today, so if you are here for the Bugaboo Freebie Friday post, please scroll down. :)

'Way back'.....when I first started stamping, I was a HUGE Riley & Co. fan! I still am! I had this problem back then, though.......I couldn't make up my mind deciding what style crafter I was in terms of technique. I know now, of course, that I prefer digital stamping, and I'm sure many of you already know that. Truth be told, I am a lousy coloring artist, especially when it comes to markers (I tried the Copic route....it's just not my thing). I do dabble with my pencils, still....every now and then. (I'd say I'm an average coloring artist with those.) Anyhow, digital is my thing. I like it because I am tech-savvy, and learning software happens quickly for me, for the basics, anyhow. I am always trying to expand my knowledge and skill of my PSE program, of course. Digital creating is my forte. It's where I'm comfortable, and comfort means so much to me. Definitely.

"What's your point?", you ask. Well, back to my "way back" point of this conversation.....I didn't know what type of crafter I was, but I loved Riley! So, I have a TON of Riley rubber stamps! You know what?! They are mostly still un-inked, unmounted, and in a box in my rubber stamp cabinet. :( Sad.....so very, very sad, I know! Well....the latest Riley DT Call has some of the crafty ladies I "know" from around cyber-space as part of their team now, and let's just say that one of them is quite encouraging when it comes to suggesting I participate more in the challenges there. (Ah, yes.....you know who you are! lol!).  ;)

I decided that my goal is to stamp and scan all of my Rileys so that I can color them digitally. I doubt (very much) that it's going to happen any time soon, but I did start with this image! This is the Balloons Riley image. I have always loved this: it's so great for birthdays, but it also would make for a fun friendship or encouragement card.

Without further 'blahblahblah', here's my card for this week's

Like I said, Riley has been scanned into my computer, then colored in PSE. I added the sentiment. I know it may seem a bit off-putting, but I have a friend in mind for this one. She's, shall we say.............not always "with it", as in "flighty". She knows it, she knows I know it, and we both can joke about once in a while (as besties should be able to, right?!). So, that's why the crazy sentiment. :)

I kept my card CAS. I has this done last night, and "slept on it", thinking about if I wanted to add clouds, or maybe something else. As you can see.....I decided "no").

Well, I'm a rambler this morning, aren't I?! Wow.....I better stop typing! lol!
Have a great weekend, everyone! I hope to see you  join me in the Riley Challenge, too! He's such a sweet moose! Way too cute!

This card features several of the images from the Mini Set Critter Blocks from Bugaboo Stamps. This card shows three of the seven images in the set; the other images included are a cat, bear, bunny and dog image. All are so adorable!
I colored these images in PSE, like I normally do my digi images, and then used my Silhouette Print and Cut feature to cut them out. I grabbed a bunch of small scraps from an old CTMH paper pack, Expeditions. I had previously used it to create a scrapbook layout, and I have several pieces left that worked out well for layering for this card. I cut a Cheery Lynn Tropical Flourish with the rusty color from the pack as my embellish for the cute critters. I also added some Glossy Accents to part of the image frames for a bit of dimension and gloss.
I did some digital work on the inside of my card. Here's a photo of that:
