A Riley & Co Birthday Card - 2nd Post Today

Hi, everyone!
Happy Friday! This is my second post today, so if you are here for the Bugaboo Freebie Friday post, please scroll down. :)

'Way back'.....when I first started stamping, I was a HUGE Riley & Co. fan! I still am! I had this problem back then, though.......I couldn't make up my mind deciding what style crafter I was in terms of technique. I know now, of course, that I prefer digital stamping, and I'm sure many of you already know that. Truth be told, I am a lousy coloring artist, especially when it comes to markers (I tried the Copic route....it's just not my thing). I do dabble with my pencils, still....every now and then. (I'd say I'm an average coloring artist with those.) Anyhow, digital is my thing. I like it because I am tech-savvy, and learning software happens quickly for me, for the basics, anyhow. I am always trying to expand my knowledge and skill of my PSE program, of course. Digital creating is my forte. It's where I'm comfortable, and comfort means so much to me. Definitely.

"What's your point?", you ask. Well, back to my "way back" point of this conversation.....I didn't know what type of crafter I was, but I loved Riley! So, I have a TON of Riley rubber stamps! You know what?! They are mostly still un-inked, unmounted, and in a box in my rubber stamp cabinet. :( Sad.....so very, very sad, I know! Well....the latest Riley DT Call has some of the crafty ladies I "know" from around cyber-space as part of their team now, and let's just say that one of them is quite encouraging when it comes to suggesting I participate more in the challenges there. (Ah, yes.....you know who you are! lol!).  ;)

I decided that my goal is to stamp and scan all of my Rileys so that I can color them digitally. I doubt (very much) that it's going to happen any time soon, but I did start with this image! This is the Balloons Riley image. I have always loved this: it's so great for birthdays, but it also would make for a fun friendship or encouragement card.

Without further 'blahblahblah', here's my card for this week's

Like I said, Riley has been scanned into my computer, then colored in PSE. I added the sentiment. I know it may seem a bit off-putting, but I have a friend in mind for this one. She's, shall we say.............not always "with it", as in "flighty". She knows it, she knows I know it, and we both can joke about once in a while (as besties should be able to, right?!). So, that's why the crazy sentiment. :)

I kept my card CAS. I has this done last night, and "slept on it", thinking about if I wanted to add clouds, or maybe something else. As you can see.....I decided "no").

Well, I'm a rambler this morning, aren't I?! Wow.....I better stop typing! lol!
Have a great weekend, everyone! I hope to see you  join me in the Riley Challenge, too! He's such a sweet moose! Way too cute!

Huff and Puff

Hi, everyone!
This is a card I made (I made three, actually!) to send out to a few of my friends across the miles that have all been my inspiration for my work-outs, lately!

I've had this Riley Stamp for ages (I think it is called "Workout Riley", but it's no longer in the store, so I'm not certain). The current Riley and Company Challenge is to Celebrate Summer, and what better way to do that than to honor one's body by working it out?! :) I know this is a little different take on a Summertime Challenge, but......seriously, who doesn't start pumping up the iron to fit into their favorite summertime clothes more comfortably when the weather is warmer??

It's been a long road to taking the leap for me to join a gym, but that is just what hubby and I have done this past month. I have some great cyber-pals that post regularly on their Facebook pages about their hard work and they've been a tremendous inspiration, aka: kick in the pants! lol! They all have their cards from Mr. Postman, so now this post can be put up for you all to see! :)

For my card, I used some old Stampin' Up dp that I've had in my stash. I cut some dumb bells on my Silhouette Portrait, embellished with some white gel pen, and created the sentiment circle in my PSE program. The mat that Riley is mounted to is also a Silhouette cut file.

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you enjoy my card!
