A new challenge over at Cuttin' Up with Class

Hi, everyone! This is my second post this morning, so if you are here for my Bugaboo New Release post, please scroll down! :0)

It's Tuesday, and you know what that means......today starts a new challenge at the new SVG Challenge Blog, Cuttin' Up with Class! Thanks to all of the participants of last week's challenge, and for leaving some love on the projects that the DT created!  We loved seeing your blogs, and hope that you'll join us again this week! If you entered something into the challenge, please visit the Cuttin' Up with Class Blog on Thursday to see if you're a winner! :0) (Jani will also be contacting the winner by email). In the meantime, though, stop by to pick up this week's FREE SVG, or you may choose the file as a DIGI, and enter the current challenge! We'd love to see what you come up with! :0)

The Cuttin' Up with Class Blog is designed for crafters that want to participate in regularly scheduled challenges that are geared toward SVG files. New challenges are on Tuesday, each week.  A free SVG cut file is provided for  you to use on a project of your choice.  It can be combined with any other challenge. The SVG cut does not have to be the focal point, as long as it is included on your project. You are free to use it along with other SVG's from individuals or other companies. Visit the Challenge Blog for your FREE SVG or Digi! Today's file is all about Family! Jani has some great stick people for you to use! I am not much of a "stick people person", but I couldn't pass up using this adorable stick dog! (I made the Christmas hat for him myself). :0) I think even our Fido's and Fifi's have Christmas wishes, too, don't you?! :0)

Don't forget to pick up the freebie so you can join in to win additional free SVG's and other goodies! :0)

Thanks so much for stopping by! I do hope you will join us each and every Tuesday for some great fun, fab SVG's and super prizes!

One more Rottweiler Puppy Card

Hi, everyone! I have been super busy with some travel, and planning more travel, but I managed to finish putting together this card that I have been working on for a few days. This is a Bugaboo Stamps image, and I created this card for the Catch the Bug Challenge Clean and Simple Challenge.
It is a Center Step Card, and you can find a simple tutorial on how to create this card base here, at SplitCoastStampers.com.
Below is a side photo to show you the "steps".
I colored in my image with my PSE program (sorry, didn't venture into the new Copics collection on this one!). I used some old MME papers and SU card stock for the card, plus an old brad and dangle that I purchased (years ago) from Wal-Mart. My sentiment was printed and punched with SU Circle punches (the old thumb-lever punches that have been around forever....I sure wish I had the skinny, easy-to-store style!).

Random Sunday - Another Sketch Challenge

I worked on this for mt OWH stack of cards today. This is one of the freebie digi stamps of the OWH Mascot. I took two photos, trying to best capture how much "shiny" is on the card.
The sketch challenge is from Saturday, over at Meljens blog.
Here's my card for this sketch!

And the photo trying to catch the glare a little more:

I used some old papers I had for this, my Prisma Pencils, gel pens, and a small star hand punch.
Hope you like it! Thanks for looking! :)

Grad Card

My son has been invited to "stick around" after the graduation ceremonies to attend a party for one of his graduating friends. I made plans to spend an extra night in the area of the school so he can go, and I thought it would be appropriate to make his friend a card (and include a  small gift of money).
I made this card today for him - the grad cap is in colors of the school; burgundy for the cord and shades of grey to give some depth to the cap. The inside of the card reads, "You licked it!".

Material List

"The Dog" SVG File from Denise's Scrapbooking Room
"Cap" from Graduation Elements Collection from SVGCuts.com
Stampin' Up Paper - Whisper Whisper White, Choc Chip, Creamy Caramel, Confetti Cream, Basic Black, Buckaroo Blue, Bordering Blue, Ruby Red
Black Gel Pen
Burgundy Stickles
Stampin Up Ink - Soft Suede, Real Red
Sponge Dauber
Font - Cooter Candy

Tribute to a Pet

A co-worker of mine recently had to put down her beloved Holly, an Aussie Shepherd she has had for over fifteen years. I am not very good with expressing words for occasion like this, so I made this for her.
She had emailed friends a photo and this beautiful prose.
It took me approximately five or six hours from idea concept to completion, even though I had some incredible inspiration from Amy - she is the master of name collages, and has a great technique and gallery of the ones she has made on her blog, here.

I presented this to my co-worker today, and she was very misty-eyed, so I think she really likes it. I could hear her telling others throughout the day, "look what Cheryl made for me!". That made me feel good. I'm glad it is something she can hold on to. :)

Material List

Frame - 12" x 12" x 3" Shadowbox (I picked mineup at Hobby Lobby at a 50% sale for $15).
Close To My Heart Papers - Emporium

Close To My Heart Spring Brads
Stampin' Up CardStack - Cranberry Crisp (retired)
Cuttlebug Embossing Folders - Stylized Flowers, Textile, Moroccan Screen, Victoria
Stampin' Up Ink - Ballet Blue

Cards, cards and more cards!

I have been super busy: spending some time with my son over the holidays, working on moving my craft items into my new craft space, and trying to finish some Christmas cards for sending out in time for the holiday! I did manage to sneak in two movies this week, too. :) "Old Dogs" and "Disney's Christmas Carol in 3-D". I highly recommend them BOTH for a great time out with the family! They were fantastic!

Here are some cards I have been working on, and finally finished today!

I have been using files from www.svgcuts.com for many of the cuts shown, and I have been digging through my stamps for phrases. Hope you like! If you want additional info on the materials used for any of these, just let me know, and I'll post. I haven't been posting much detail, due to my limited time.

She's My 'Lil SugarBear!

This is my youngest dog, Mia (pronounced, Mee-ah). She's four. She is a very attentive little girl that loves to cuddle and have attention from her "mom". She's spoiled rotten, and we love her to bits! I took this on my deck this evening as we were heading back in the house for "cookies"! This is probably the best photo I have ever taken of my dogs!
Oh..............ignore those awesome weeds growing through the deck! hahaha - we can't spray because this is "dog territory", and they eat everything green! So, we'll pull them out when the weather kills them from the frost that's coming.
