Bunny Love & A Freebie!

Hi, everyone!
Bugaboo Stamps is hosting an "Anything Goes" Challenge on the blog, and this is my first entry. (Note: I can not win first place with this card, as it is not a Bugaboo image, but I can still enter it for a second or third place prize). Hop on over to the Bugaboo Challenge Blog for a peek at all the details, and join in!
Today I played with a free digi-stamp I picked up by Melissa Jenkins, of Meljen's Designs, at the OWH Blog.  I love Melissa's digi's, and this one is adorable! You can find this digi-stamp, and others here, on the OWH Blog. While you're there, why not read more about OWH, and join in!
I did something a little different today: I colored the flowers, heart, bow and inside of the bunny ears and cheeks with Photoshop, but then I printed the image and finished with my PrismaColor Pencils. I hope you like it!

For today's freebie, I'm giving you the svg file for my Layered Heart Border, shown on this card. :
I hope you like it!

OWH S&S Sketch Challenge #46

1This week's sketch challenge from OWH :
And here is my card
The snowbird image is a digi-stamp that I had in my file, and it happens to be one of the few that I did not have labeled where it came from. :( So.....if you know where it originated, please drop me a line and I'll be able to give credit for it - it's SO CUTE!
I colored it in on PSE, and then layered it with some designer papers I had in my stash. I went with a  pink card base for two reasons: 1. it is not a commonly used winter color; 2. It plays on the pink of the little birds belly!
Thanks for stopping by!
Happy Crafting!

Random Sunday - Free SVG & OWH Challenge Sketch 30

Today I worked on the Operation Write Home Sketch Challenge #30. Here's the sketch
And here is my card

I used a Bugaboo Digi-Stamp, my own beehive svg that I made, and a Cuttlebug Honeycomb die. There is a lot of inking on the beehive and honeycomb, with SU retired Crushed Curry. I used some boutique brads, Prima Flowers and Stickles to complete this little cutie.
Hope you like! Thanks for looking!

If you like my beehive SVG, you can download it for your personal use by

OWH Sketch Challenge #29

Today there is a new post over at Operation Write Home - it's a sketch challenge! (I love sketch challenges!).
Here is the sketch to use

And here is the card I made
The background paper is a spooky graveyard scene. This and the bat paper that I printed the word "Spooky" on can be found in my Etsy shop. CAFexpressions! So if you like them, please.......go buy them! (And check out my other paper packs while you're there - hint-hint!)
I used a Martha Stewart border punch on the 2x5 layers, and the raven and skull are cut with SCAL and my Cricut from SVGCuts.com digicart, Hazel's Wicked Witch Crafts.
I did some embossing with a Cuttlebug D'Vine Swirls folder, and some inking on the skull. The raven is also embossed, and his eye is finished off with a Souffle gel pen, and some red Stickles.

Thanks for stopping by to take a look! I hope you like what you see!

Inspiration Team Challenge 08/06 & A Freebie Digi-Paper

Melanie, at Scrappily Ever After, has been a new theme for the month of August - Back to School -  and today is the day for a photo challenge! The team of gals she put together to help inspire others to create cards for Operation Write Home has some amazing submissions for you, so be sure to check out Melanie's blog!
For today's challenge, I have made a digital card front. I plan on printing this to affix to a card that is 5" x 5" so I can send it in to Operation Write Home.
I used a digi-kit called Study Buddies, created by Lisa and Jeanne Marie from Precious Piecings and Jeanne Marie's Scraps. (You can purchase Jeanne Marie's other digi-kits at www.acherryontop.com). While I did not use my own digi-paper on this card, I have created one for you to go along with today's challenge photo! You can pick it up at the bottom of this post. :)
I do not have any elementary school age kids: my son is going to be a senior in high school this year. Wow.....where has the time gone! I am recently unemployed, and am looking forward to being able to attend all of the school functions this year! I usually make it to most of them, but now I will be able to visit, even during the week (for those new to my blog, my son goes to a private school, several hours away from home, so visits include overnight stays close to campus). What about you? Are your kids just starting school, or are they "seasoned scholars"?
I hope you like my digi-card, and don't forget to head over to Melanie's blog to see the other team members creations!

And now, for what you've all been waiting for......
a freebie!

Inspiration Team Challenge 07/30 & A Freebie

Melanie, at Scrappily Ever After, has been celebrating Christmas in July, and today is the day for a photo challenge! The team of gals she put together to help inspire others to create cards for Operation Write Home has some amazing submissions for you, so be sure to check out Melanie's blog!
Today's card is based on the photo of Christmas lights...ooooooooo, prettttyyyy! :) They always do mesmerize me!
In the spirit of using up my scraps, and trying to ease the burden of moving them all when the time comes, I made this card for this challenge.

I'm a terrible photographer, so I scan my cards. This tree is on pop-dots, and I ended up with a shadow, and a slight blur to my pic - sorry! I tried.......and failed.. :( I'm going to try to do better next time. Maybe I'll even pull out the camera and try to shoot the photo. Maybe.
Material List
SU Cardstock from Scrap Pile - Certainly Celery, Garden Green, Confetti Cream
Leftover Christmas Light Brads & Star Brad Buddy
SU Ink - Garden Green
Sponge Dauber
Pop DOts
SU Stamp - Short & Sweet
SCAL
(The christmas tree was traced from a jpg image in SCAL).

In honor of the end of our Christmas in July theme, I have three papers for you today!
:)
Thanks for checking out my submission to the challenges! I hope that I inspired you a little, and that you come back next month for our school theme!
See you soon!

Please leave some love if you enjoy my freebies! I love to hear from you! :)

A Summer Dragon Flower for You! - Scrap Challenge Wednesday

Melanie, at Scrappily Ever After, hosts a Scrap Challenge every Wednesday. She's doing a great job of kicking my butt into gear for creating cards for Operation Write Home to send to the troops! This is my submission to the team of gals she put together to help inspire others to create with just their scrap pile papers! This card was put together with only scrap paper!
Scrap challenge cards can include scrap papers and any embellishes from previously opened packages (for ribbon, it should come from a roll you've already cut from).
Today, I made a card using a Dustin Pike Image. It's from his Dragon For All Seasons Collection of digi-stamps. (We LOVE dragons at our house, don't you?!). I used an EK Success border punch and did some sponging on the edges. The image is colored with my Prisma Colored Pencils. If you take a peek at my Labels list (right column of the blog), you can see I have several posts with a Dragon label. So....if you like dragons, too, please check out my other posts, and leave me a comment to let me know what you think of my dragons! :)

Random Sunday - Another Sketch Challenge

I worked on this for mt OWH stack of cards today. This is one of the freebie digi stamps of the OWH Mascot. I took two photos, trying to best capture how much "shiny" is on the card.
The sketch challenge is from Saturday, over at Meljens blog.
Here's my card for this sketch!

And the photo trying to catch the glare a little more:

I used some old papers I had for this, my Prisma Pencils, gel pens, and a small star hand punch.
Hope you like it! Thanks for looking! :)

Scrap challenge cards can include scrap papers and any embellishes from previously opened packages (for ribbon, it should come from a roll you've already cut from).
Since our Inspiration Team has been working on the Christmas in July theme for the photo challenges that we post for on Friday's, I decided to keep using the papers I had already cut for another of my creations. Because the challenge for this is to use scraps, I'm not going to be posting a material list for these cards. I can't always remember where the papers came from. I do not organize my scraps, other than throwing them all in one box. Do you? How do you organize them? By color? Brand of paper? Theme? Leave a comment and share your ideas! :)

Ah-Maize-ing!

Today, I took time to pull out some paper and print the corn pattern paper I created. I used it as the background for the fab corn svg file from SVGCuts.com Veggie Garden Part I digicart. I used "Jester" font to cut the letters out, did a lot of inking around edges, and some highlighting with a white gel pen. My Cuttlebug is the star in today's act, I think! Just lovin' the way the Tiny Mosaic and Forest Branches embossing folders added to my maize!!
Thanks for stopping by! Hope you like!

Here is the photo she posted for inspiration on her blog

I printed some of the digipapers that I created in the Summer Fun Digipack. I used my scalloped circle punches, some brads and a few pop dots -simple, but effective! :)

OWH Cards for Boys

I was digging through my cabinet full of Stampin' Up Stamps today (readying for a spring sale to thin out the masses!), and I came across a set I have had for a long time, but still never inked! It's called Little Trucks, and has been retired for several years.
I recently saw some cards during the course of some blog browsing, and they were geared to children. I could use a little pick me up from the winter blahs, so I thought it would be beneficial to me to do something with cheery colors today. Below are my cards! I hope you like them!

Material List

Stampin' Up Stamps - Little Trucks (retired)
Stampin Up Card Stock - Tempting Turquoise, Brilliant Blue, Only Orange, Garden Green, Whisper White
Ribbon - American Crafts
Designer Paper - My Minds Eye Magnolia
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder - Diamond Plate

I used my Cricut and Sure Cuts A Lot to cut the shapes.
