Oh....You Dirty, Dirty Girl!

Hi, everyone!
We are trucking along through our
Christmas Chaos Week
at
Catch the Bug!

Today, we are showcasing creations that will tickle your funny-bone....or so we hope!
We are showing off our
Humor Me Wednesday
with the twist of Christmas!

Normally, Wednesdays are reserved to highlight some of the whacky holidays each week at Catch the Bug, some of the lesser-known holidays, that is; today, though, we are creating some humorous Christmas Cards to share with you!

For my card today, I am featuring the super-sexy, ever-so-snarky JJ Christmas Cheers image. I think one of my friends will get a chuckle out of JJ's antics!

I colored up my image is PSE, as always, adding a sentiment that I found on the web. I added some glitter gel pen to her boot buttons, but it is hard to see in the photo (some things just never photograph well, right?!). I used some Bazzill Bling card stock for my image mat and dp mat. It also gives a bit of shine and shimmer to the card. I dug deep into my stash for the dew drops that I added, and the wreath charm is something that I picked up for a lady on Facebook group for selling/swapping scrapbook stuff (there are so many, and I apologize because I don't remember which one of them I found the charms on).

Be sure to check out the rest of the DT goodies at the Catch the Bug Blog, today! Don't forget to join in with your funny card, too, so you can be entered to win the daily prize!

Happy Crafting!

For the Love of a Teddy Bear

Hi, everyone!
This is my SECOND POST today.
Please scroll down to see my Guest Designer post for Sisterhood of Crafters!

We all know about holidays through the year such as Valentine's Day, Easter, July 4th and Christmas, but what about those oft-forgotten, completely crazy head-scratcher holidays that are rarely heard of, and often laughable?! Well.........at Catch the Bug we will be highlighting some of the whacky holidays each week with some great projects and cards to depict them! We're calling it
Humor Me Wednesday!
We hope you will join us in the fun each week: take a peek at some of the different days by visiting the talented DT members for Bugaboo Stamps for some inspiration. Most holidays are just belly-busters, while others are just plain fun! :0) We are choosing holidays from each week for the Humor Me Wednesday creations, so we aren't all covering the same one. We're hoping this offers you that much more inspiration and fun! :0)

For my card today, I chose to use the September 9 holiday: Teddy Bear Day. I don't know anyone that never had a teddy bear, do you? I still have two from my childhood collection, though they are put away, out of reach of my fur-babies! :) This card features  the adorable Theodore Sleep image.

I colored up my image is PSE, as always, adding a sentiment that I typed up from a Fiskars stamp I had seen. I used my Spellbinders A2 Curved Borders dies, which I absolutely love, love, LOVE and can't seem to use enough! I also used an EK Success border punch for the stars. The two stars near the sentiment are the negative from the border punch. My tiny star paper is ancient.....from back in the early 2000's. It's from Sizzix, Country paper pad from the Little Sizzles line.

Happy Crafting!

August is Family Fun Month!

Hi, everyone!

For my card today, I chose to use the August holiday: Family Fun Month. I like that Family Fun is a month-long holiday! I think it's a great month for it, too! I can remember going to family picnics in August when I was a kid. There was a little amusement park along the river where we would go for bbq, and they had a lot of fun family games planned for the day (through dads work). They had a few small carnival type rides, which were always my favorite (who doesn't love the Tilt-O-Whirl? I know I did!). Anyhow, this fun image reminded me of those days, so I thought it was perfect for this month-long holiday celebration. This card features  the AKV Carnival - Jumping Trio image.

I colored up my image is PSE, as always. I used the EK Success Mini Pennants punch for my banner pieces, and a Marvy punch for my tiny flowers. Then I added some rhinestones. The banner is on pop-dots for dimension.

By entering your project, you could win up to TEN Bugaboo images!
Head on over to Catch the Bug to play along!

One more thing before I wrap this up....
I am now assisting the DT Coordinator with some of the more routine things at Catch the Bug Blog to fill in some time for our wonderful Ms. Min, who is expecting Baby #1, and is happily preparing for the arrival! I'm helping out with some posting duties, and I'm also helping out by choosing a Bugaboo Stamps Fan of the Month! So......if you're a fan of Bugaboo Stamps (and who isn't, right?!), make sure you're posting your Bugaboo cards on your blog because I'm poking around Blog-land looking for YOU! :)

Best Friends Day is June 8!

Hi, everyone!

For my card today, I chose to use the June 8 holiday: Best Friends Day. I miss my girls nights out with my besties since moving, but I figured they will get a kick out of this Stella Friends - Wine Alone card I created. What's more funny than congregating over a bottle of wine and "critiquing" the other patrons?! Okay.....that's not ALL we do, but you know what I'm talking about, right?! lol!

I colored up my image is PSE, as always. I fussy cut the wave at the top of the white. and then added some polka-dot dp from my scrap box. I added some Stickles to make the wine 'bubbly' (nothing but the best for these ladies! lol!), and some Glossy Accents to give the ladies some age-appropriate bottle-thick glasses. :) The glittery dot is something I picked up in a Michaels Clearance Bin for uber-cheap.I just love those bins! :)

Pick up this cute Bugaboo image, and others, over at the Bugaboo Stamps Store, and make sure you also jump over to the Catch the Bug Challenge Blog: it's where you can find out all the lastest "dish" on what challenges are happening and what other challenge sites that Bugaboo is sponsoring (more chances to win some free Bugaboo!). It's also where you can check out all the other fantastic DT projects, including the OBG (Oldie But Goodie) stuff, the ABC (Anything But a Card) items, and the Tuesday New Releases......plus so much more!

One more thing before I wrap this up....be on the lookout for the upcoming Bugaboo Christmas in July Week Long Celebration! This is always a favorite, with lots of FREE images given away for participating in our challenges that week! I'll have more details on that as the date draws nearer.

Also, I am now assisting the DT Coordinator with some of the more routine things at Catch the Bug Blog to fill in some time for our wonderful Ms. Min, who is expecting Baby #1, and is happily preparing for the arrival! We're hoping this offers you that much more inspiration and fun! :0)

For my card today, I chose to use the Nov 20 holiday: Beautiful Day. Some other more humorous holidays this week are happening : July 17 is Homemade Bread Day & Take A Hike Day. Now get this......Nov 23 is Black Friday, as we all know, but it is ALSO Buy Nothing Day! Now....how in the heck did that happen?! lol!

Today I used the Flower Garden  image from Bugaboo Stamps. I kept things pretty basic, and grabbed several pieces of scrap paper to put this together. I have to tell you.....my mojo is seriously lacking, for quite some time, and I didn't even have this card completed until THE due date! <GASP> Completely not like me! I typically am done with four weeks to spare! ACK! Mr. Mojo better come back from his hiatue. Yike......just not feeling crafty, lately, and I really do want that feeling back!

Humor Me Wednesday at catch the Bug

Hi, everyone!

We're hoping this offers you that much more inspiration and fun! :0)

For my card today, I chose to use the July 7 holiday: Chocolate Day. Some other more humorous holidays this week are happening on July 10 is Teddy Bear Picnic Day; July 11 is Cheer Up the Lonely Day, and  , are you ready for this?! The entire week, July 7-13, is Nude Recreation Week! lol! (I really did try to come up with a card idea for that, but I fell short on ideas. lol! THAT would have been a really big HAHA for Wednesday!).

Today I used the Kitchen Ginger - Chocolate Chip  image from Bugaboo Stamps. I kept him clean and simple. I used some of my stashed-away DCWV papers. I have a TON of these. I think I don't pull them out much because they are a card stock, and layering them makes for quite a thick, heavy card........literally. Today, I made sure to cut each of my pieces to avoid layering them. I am much happier with it this way, and will try to remember to do this more in the future with these papers. :)
There is a lot of glitter on the papers, so I didn't do any additional Stickles or glaze this time (seems I'm on a roll with that glaze, lately! lol!). The sentiment is one that I altered from a coffee sentiment that I've seen on store plaques and wall art (usually it reads, "With enough coffee I can rule the world", or with enough "caffeine"....something along those lines).

We're hoping this offers you that much more inspiration and fun! :0)

For my card today, I chose to use the April 12 holiday: Big Wind. Some other more humorous holidays this week are happening on April 7  - No Housework Day (we all LOVE this one, right?!), April 8 - Draw a Bird Day; April 10 - National Sibling Day.
I think the Big Wind Day could take on all kinds of funny meaning, but I did keep my perception of it Rated G, with no toilet humor. lol! There's nothing like a birthday card to make fun of someone's age, I say! Who better to help with that than the ever-grumpy Gus! lol!
This is the Gus Birthday - Golden Years image from Bugaboo Stamps. I kept him clean and simple, with only pice of DP on top of an embossed card base. I added a few mini pennant punched pieces, and a few rhinestones. The inside of this card reads, "to blow out all those candles this year, my friend! Happy Birthday!".

For my card today, I chose to use the March 17 holiday: St. Patrick's Day. Some other more humorous holidays this week are happening on March 19 - Poultry Day, March 22 - National Goof Off Day; and March 23 National Chip & Dip Day.
While my choice isn't a funny card or subject, it is one of those holidays that I typically don't make any cards for. I did make ONE other card for this holiday: it never hurts to have two, right?! lol! I actually used the same image for both of my cards for St. Patrick's Day this year. I just love this image! This is Edward Elephant - St. Patrick's Day. The inside of my card reads, "...to have a friend like you!". I guess I can still send this now that it's post-St. Pat's Day. :0)
