It's a Lucky Day at Catch the Bug!

It's Saturday, which means a new challenge over at Catch the Bug today! This week's theme is definitely appropriate for the season!

It's all about
Luck!

We want to see you whip up a goodie
that has anything to do with Luck!

I was going to create something with one of my favorite cowboy images, and use some horseshoes to convey the "luck", but I decided to really stretch my cut-file-making skills for todays card. I have been drooling over the latest Elizabeth Crafts die release, and really want the Lots of Pops die! I love that it's so versatile; you can keep some of the pop-ups folded down should you not need them. Well, the cost for this die is not currently part of my budget plan (plus, I pormised hubby I'd try to NOT buy craft stuff this year....ugh! So tough!). I can maneuver my cutting program software quite well (right now, I use Silhouette Studio Designer Edition), so I went to work to create something similar to the die, but as a cutting file. I am quite happy with the way it turned out! It was a lot of fun to jazz up the inside of my card (not something I normally do)! I kept the outside of my card CAS, as you can see. :)
(If you'd like to purchase the file, available in Studio format for Silhouette machines only, please visit the "Cutting Files for Sale" Tab at the top of my blog for info).

My card features the adorable Bugaboo Stamps critter, Edward Elephant! I used the
Edward Elephant - St. Patrick's Day image on the inside of my card. The outside of my card, pictured first, has a sentiment on it that I created in my PSE program. A bit of embossing with a folder, a Martha Stewart punch and a strip of scrap paper is all it took for this part of the card.

Now, here is the inside of my card! I have several pics for you, hoping to convey the dimension of the little scene I made. My Silhouette machine is a dream for printing and cutting my images!

I made the mistake of glueing the insert into the card base after putting some of the embellishes on it, which made it VERY crooked! So, I had to trim my card edges down to clean it up. It was intended to be a 5" square, but now it's a 4-3/4" square. lol!
Here are some additional photos, at different angles.

Here is a closer look at my image. I just love that little chick in the pot! :)

Hi, everyone!
This is a special day for the Bugaboo DT - we are sponsoring the Inky Impressions
"Summer Fun" challenge! :0)
We were given some images to play with for this, and I chose the Pot of Gold and Sentiment. I decided to focus the card front on the sentiment, and use the image as an embellish.

It's OBG - Oldie But Goodie - day at Catch the Bug!

Hi, everyone!
Thursday's are Oldie But Goodie Days at Catch the Bug Blog! I used this cute Edward Elephant - St. Patrick's Day image to put together a card fora friend of mine. He has been in the store since earlier this month, and this and the other Edward images are just fabulous, I think! You should definitely go check them out here!

I had some old Sring Stack papers in my stash, and that's what has been used here. I cut the shamrock vine on my eClips (from the Holidays cartridge), and I added some Stickles to bling up the coins, buckle and shamrock embellish. I love the purple with the green and white - I think they are good colors together! :0)
You can check out all the Edward images, and the other great images that Jodie has to offer, at the Bugaboo Store here.
Thanks for stopping by today! Make sure to check out the other OBG creations over at Catch the Bug, and visit the Design Team....you can click on their blog links located in the left side bar of my blog for great Bugaboo eye candy! <<===========

Bugaboo Luck & Kaboodle Doodles Challenge

Hi, everyone!
I worked on this card last week for the Catch the Bug Challenge Blog "Green With Envy" challenge,  but I had missed the posting deadline for that one. Instead, she is going to be entered in their "Anything Goes" Challenge, and also in the Kaboodle Doodles Challenge Blog "Go Green" challenge! I think she's cute, and thought you might like a free svg today, so here she is! :0)
I used Jodie's, cute little fairy, and colored her in PSE. You can find her on Jodie's website, Bugaboo Stamps. The papers I used are Stampin' Up card stock: Glorious Green. The dp papers are some old MME papers I've had in my stash. The shamrock and the layered frame are my creation, and available as a freebie in the left sidebar under "Shamrock Bubble Frame" and "Clover" (two separate files today! (0: )
I used PSE to make the sentiment, punched it and layered it with Stampin Up hand punches, 1" Circle, 1-3/8" Circle. The two tiny clovers are negatives of the frame, and I colored them in with some gel pens. The large clover is run through Cuttlebug with the D'Vine Swirls folder, then I added some Lime Green Stickles to the embossed swirls. Two gem brads for the Stampin' Up Designer Brads on the bottom corners finished it off.
As you can see, I did take a few liberties with the sketch part of Bugaboo's challenge, but I think you can still see the sketch here.......can you??
Happy Crafting, everyone!
