Nov 2012

I had a request for a step card that used nativity figures. While I really would have liked to accommodate that request, the steps are not large enough to allow for the detail required for that, in my opinion. Instead, I created a side-step card! :)
I didn't put a sentiment on this one, but was thinking about it (after the fact). For those of you that own a Word Window Punch, the bottom of the animal layer could be punched to layer a sentiment below! Or, you could place an oval or square cutout in SCAL on this layer. :)
A quick tip for this card - make sure your mat and blade are very clean/sharp. I did have a bit of trouble with my cut of the animal legs - my mat could use a clean up!!
For my nativity figures, I ran each layer through the Cuttlebug using the Victorian, D'Vine Swirl and Moroccan Screen Embossing folders. I'm still digging through scraps and stash for my paper choices, but I can tell you on this card what I used: The base layer is True Thyme, a retired SU card stock. The Bethlehem Star is glitter mat stacks, and the rest of the layers are Stampin Up Mellow Moss, Close To Cocoa, and a designer paper from a retired Christmas pack that the name evades me at the moment!
The free svg file contains an svg for the card base, each step element (baby Jesus, Wise men  and animal layers), and the Bethlehem Star, which is a double layer file. I have also included a jpg photo (larger than shown here) that shows the dimensions for scoring your card. :)
Have a wonderful holiday this week! I am certain we are all busy-busy with family, friends and food!
Happy Crafting!
