No Monkeyin' Around going on here!

WOW!  I just looked back through my blog, and I have been on a creating streak! Usually I am lucky to put one or two things in a post each week, but lately....well....you know!
Anyhow, I'm working on making some birthday cards.  I basically browsed through my digistamp folders and found this cutie from Mo's Digital Pencil.
My son, who is now seventeen, is my monkey. He's always been my monkey, and probably always will be. He hates that, but..........such is life, right?! I think I will keep this card for his birthday in July. Jusst because it's cute like him. hehehehe
You know what? I think I have a monkey scrapbook page on my blog here somewhere.....yep! I do! Check this out - this is my little monkey, Kyle, when he was five! My, how the time flies!

Okay, now on to todays project, his card.
I had some scraps of the Stampin Up Cottage Wall paper left in a pile on my workspace (I'm not always the neatest crafter, but it works for me). That is the paper that has the stripes on it. I ran it through my Cuttlebug using the Distressed Stripes folder, and then turned it to run it through again. It's hard to see in the photo (I didn't do inking on these pieces), but it makes the paper look like a plaid, almost.  The tempting turquoise and rich razzleberry squares are run through the Cuttlebug with the Spots N Dots folder. The mats beneath each textured square are distressed on the edges. (I used not quite navy and certainly celery card stock for these). The card base is soft sky card stock, cut for a 5x5 finished card. The ovals are cut from my nesties; the base is chocolate chip card stock. The ribbon is something I have had for a long time. It's tied through a ribbon hole punch. The sentiment is punched with Stampin Up hand punches, Oval and Scalloped Oval.
Well, that's all from me today, folks! We are snowed in here - al the schools and most businesses are closed. Maybe I'll come up with a little something for later......hmmmmm.......a snow-related, masculine freebie, perhaps?! ;0)
Thanks for coming by, and happy crafting!
