Now, Amy has been a huge inspiration for this layout because of her SVG that I used, too! I'll bet she had no idea just how much I learn from her! hahaha! The Star with Swirls SVG is hers on this layout, and the large scalloped star is part of her file. as well as the cool swirly element on the bottom of my page. The "Prom" title Imade in SCAL. The font I used is called "Ballpark Wiener".
For my bg paper, I used a sheet from Close to My Hearts Zippidee paper pack. The red striped paper is a specialty sheet - it is a bit shiny, but hard to see in the photo - and is from a grab bag pack of papers I picked while on vaca in SC with my great friend, Cely, of Creating in Carolina. We had stopped at this great little scrapbook store near Myrtle Beach, and I swooped up an awesome deal on some designer papers in the grab bag! Anyhow, I used my EK Success Edger punch for the stars on the red striped piece. The scalloped oval and large oval are Stampin' Up punches, as are the small "2011" circle and the black Designer Label shape. The red ribbon is from my stash: the cute silver embellish is something Cely had mailed to me a while ago, and I thought it added just enough bling to the page. The larger black and red stars are two different SU punches that I have had for eons.
I was concerned about the Zippidee paper for the background......I didn't want the page to be to "young" for the occasion. Do you think it's too "cartoon-y" compared to the other papers?
My son........in the photo....wow, time sure does fly! He only has three more weeks of school, and then it's graduation day! He took his friend, Amanda, to the prom. He had actually spent two months planning the school's prom! Normally, his school does not hold a prom because of the small class sizes. Last year, another cadet at the school, a then senior, had proposed the plan for a Junior/Senior Prom and the staff had approved it. This year, my son had decided to take onthe task of planning it. According to some of the faculty at the school he is one heck of a party planner! He took the responsibility of the event planning on his shoulders from beginning to end! I'm proud! :0)
Okay - I have a couple more scrap pages I've completed over the past weekend to scan in. You see, graduation date is nearing, and I am WAY behind, so it's cram time! This tip of Amy's sure will help me share them more quickly! Let me know what you think of them!
Thanks for stopping by and Happy Crafting!
This is awesome....a must for you to save and help me next year with my son Mitchell's prom. What detail. You said it was easy but it took 10 minutes to read everything. You promise it will be easy....so loving it!!!
ReplyDeleteWow! You did an awesome job in merging! I love it!
