Anything But a Card? Okay - how about this.....?!

Hi, everyone!
It's an ABC (Anything But a Card) Day over at Catch the Bug, and it's my turn to create something! :0) I always have a difficult time coming up with projects for ABC Day, but I have begun working on a second scrapbook project for my niece, so this page definitely qualifies!  :0)

This is a single page layout using the Bugaboo Stamps images that have been converted to svg files so I could paper piece them. The images used are Turtles Daydream and Turtles Girl on Shell.

PLEASE NOTE:
It is noted in the Bugaboo Stamps Terms of Use that creating die-cuts without express permission is not allowed. ALL MY PAPER PIECED DIE-CUTS WERE CREATED WITH PERMISSION!

Below are some additional close-up pics of the turtles for you.

My title is cut from a Sizzlits set of dies called Round-A-Bout. I ran it through my Big Shot with a Cuttlebug Embossing folder called Tiny Dots. I typed up and printed all the little descriptive words along the side of the photo mat. They are punched out with a Stampin' Up Word Window punch. My borders are cut with Spellbinders and a Martha Stewart punch. The brads I used have been in my stash for ages, and are boutique brads. I was lucky to have so many to match my papers! :)

So, that's it for me today! I hope you like what you see!

Whoo Loves You???

Hi, everyone!
Happy Sunday to you all! I hope your weekend has been a bright, sunny warm weekend like mine! It's been gorgeous here, so I threw open my windows, cranked my tunes and finished putting together this layout.

My intention for the pictures is to make them circles, so the pretty doily cuts can still be seen on the mats.  I used the Cricut cartridge, Cindy Loo, for my paper piecings and die-cuts. This page took a long time to cut everything because I slowed my cutting speed down to 2. I wanted to make sure all those intricate cuts worked out the first time! lol!

I added some heart-shaped rhinestones to my borders. My owl and letters are on pop-dots.

I used my white gel pen in the eyes, to add the "glimmer" in the eye. I embossed the top owl layer with a Cuttlebug folder, Textile. I lined it up so the swirls of the embossing folder would match up with where I was placing the purple accents.

I used an EK Success border punch for the bracket edge, and the circle shapes are the negative cuts from the top tree layer, I have a Sizzlit Strip that I used for my letters. The circles are popped up on pop-dots.
This was a fun page to put together, and I am anxious to put the pictures on. (They are being mailed to me from my sister). Once I do, I may re-post this to show you how it looks completely finished. :)

Thanks so much for flying by today! I hope you enjoy what you see here!

Toadally Cute Scrapbook Layout

Hi, everyone!
I hope your weekend has been a good one! The temps cooled down here, and hubby is now sleeping days for his two-week midnight stint at work (ugh!). Combine that with the rain, and it has made for a great crafty day for me!
I've been working on another scrapbook layout for my niece's book for the past few days. I recently won a gift certificate to Designs on Cloud 9, so I picked up this super-duper cute Rain Frogs SVG File from there, and have included two of the frogs in that set on my layout.
It's a short drive to the closest JoAnn store here, and they recently had a paper sale; of course, I had to go! lol! Not that I needed any paper, but..........I needed paper! lol! Having already purchased the svg frogs, you can imagine my excitement when I came across this cute paper there! :) I was like a kid in a candy store, raiding those racks like crazy! lol!

Here are some closer views of the paper-pieced cuties, the water lilly flowers (made from my own svg), and the title (also made from my own svg).

I added the sweet little dragonflies, which were a pack of really old photo corners I had in my stash,  I peeled the dragonflies off the corner pieces they were attached to, and glued them to my page. I did some dry embossing to the title letters and to the water. Most of the edges of the frogs and the flowers were inked before they were pieced together.
Thanks so much for hopping by today! I hope you enjoy what you see here!

Water Baby Scrap Layout

Hi, everyone! Happy Friday!
I have been very busy this week, moving my craft room to a different part of the house, as well as moving my son to another room, and my hubby's hobby room, too. It's been a tough, physical week, as it included not only furniture moving, but rug scrubbing, as well. I had hoped for a little more help from my boys than I received, but.....nope! They just weren't interested! Such brats....lol!
Anyhow, I have been waiting for my new set-up to be craft-ready to put together another page layout for my niece's book. I'm very happy to show you this one - I broke some of my own "rules". lol! I used stickers!!! Can you believe it?! lol! I tried to redeem myself by sewing on this layout, too. I was so in love with the base papers when I saw them that I could not layer more papers on them, or cut them up; they were just too pretty!
Now....the sticker thing.....well......I was going to cut and piece all kinds of tropical fish, but I figured since I had these pretty K&Company stickers already in my stash.......why not use them?! No sense in keeping them around if there's a good cause for them, right?! So, there you have it....I sort of went "old school" with that decision. lol! You know, as in pre-cutting machine "old school"?! lol!

Below are some closer pics of the pages on their own, as well as a close up of my title, and the sewn mat that I made.

I think the pages can be used for either beach, pool or bath tub pics. :)

Materials List

Punch - Fiskars; Washed Ashore

Finally!

Hi, everyone!
I have been working on a scrapbook layout for a bit.......at least a week, I'd say! Mr. Mojo seems to have taken a hiatus, again, and this layout has been a true work in progress for many, many days! I finally put the last details on it this morning, and took the pictures. I seem to be having a bit of trouble photographing my bright pink with polka dots, so the color on this is not nearly as nice in the pictures as it is to hold it in your hands!

Here is the double layout

Here is a closer look at the left page of the layout

I used a Kristi W. Designs SVG file that I had picked up from KaDoodle Bug Designs before she quit offering Kristi's files (you can find Kristi's web store here now). I added some punched flowers, brads, an svg vase by me, some die-cuts and a few other details before calling it done. I think this will make a nice "any photo" page for my niece's book that I'm working on.
Thanks for stopping by today!

A Color Challenge at Catch the Bug!

It's Saturday, which means a new challenge over at Catch the Bug today! This is always a favorite among us crafters because it gives us some visual inspiration! You can choose to use the colors, the theme of the photo, the season....however this picture inspires you, we want to see it in your project!

This week's theme is a
Color Challenge
(scroll down for the photo of colors)

This week I chose to post a scrapbook layout using the colors. There are a few additional colors in my layout, I'm certain, but you can't control every DP detail, right?!
I was on a mission to use up a pile of small scraps I had. I was pleased when the pile was 98% used up after pasting the pieces all over my base card stock! Woohoo! I love using up my scraps, don't you?!
