For the Love of a Teddy Bear

Hi, everyone!
This is my SECOND POST today.
Please scroll down to see my Guest Designer post for Sisterhood of Crafters!

We all know about holidays through the year such as Valentine's Day, Easter, July 4th and Christmas, but what about those oft-forgotten, completely crazy head-scratcher holidays that are rarely heard of, and often laughable?! Well.........at Catch the Bug we will be highlighting some of the whacky holidays each week with some great projects and cards to depict them! We're calling it
Humor Me Wednesday!
We hope you will join us in the fun each week: take a peek at some of the different days by visiting the talented DT members for Bugaboo Stamps for some inspiration. Most holidays are just belly-busters, while others are just plain fun! :0) We are choosing holidays from each week for the Humor Me Wednesday creations, so we aren't all covering the same one. We're hoping this offers you that much more inspiration and fun! :0)

For my card today, I chose to use the September 9 holiday: Teddy Bear Day. I don't know anyone that never had a teddy bear, do you? I still have two from my childhood collection, though they are put away, out of reach of my fur-babies! :) This card features  the adorable Theodore Sleep image.

I colored up my image is PSE, as always, adding a sentiment that I typed up from a Fiskars stamp I had seen. I used my Spellbinders A2 Curved Borders dies, which I absolutely love, love, LOVE and can't seem to use enough! I also used an EK Success border punch for the stars. The two stars near the sentiment are the negative from the border punch. My tiny star paper is ancient.....from back in the early 2000's. It's from Sizzix, Country paper pad from the Little Sizzles line.

Happy Crafting!
Thanks so much for stopping by today! I truly appreciate it, and would love it if you would leave me a comment so I know you came to visit!
Please feel free to browse my blog, I'd love to be your inspiration for your next project! :0) If you're not already a follower, and like what I create, please consider following me! :0) ====>>

Boing! Boing! We're bouncing along.....

Hi, everyone!
It's Saturday, and with that usually comes a brand new challenge at Catch the Bug. This week, we're switching things up a little bit:
As you may know, Ms. Min, our awesome Assistant DT Coordinator, is expecting her first 'little miracle' this month! What better way to celebrate than with a
Blog Hop for Mom-to-Be, and Baby!?

If you did not come here from Billie A's blog, please hop over to our Catch the Bug post where our hop begins. When you're all finished hopping, please leave a comment for Min, maybe some tidbit of advice based on your experience as a parent? Or.....make a guess at the date or weight of the new 'lil bundle of love!

For my card, I chose the AKV Time Well Spent - Reading Time image from Bugaboo Stamps. When I was little, reading was my #1 favorite thing to do, and it was always so much better with mom!
My advice, Min.....read together, at least a few moments every day. Forever. :) It creates such a wonderful bond when baby is is "baby", and that lasts forever! :)
Oh.....and I am sure you've already heard this from a lot of people, but sleep when baby sleeps!! Lol! :D
Hugs and love to you, Mama-Min! Enjoy your hopping!

I colored the image in PhotoShop Elements, and added a sentiment, then printed. I cut the edge using Spellbinders A2 Curved Borders. I also cut the brown card stock edge and the pink card stock edge with the same set of dies. My dp is an old one from Stampin' Up that I had in my stash. I added a heart brad, and everything is atop an A2 card base.

Your next stop along our hop is Dee's blog!

Happy Hopping!
I'll see you with more Bugaboo cuties on Aug 20, when the DT returns from their brief summer vaca (which runs from today through the 19th of this month)!
Enjoy the cutie-patooties! :)

A New Release for the Little Monster

It's Tuesday.......time for a Bugaboo Stamps New Release! Jodie's been hard at work on some great images, and this Skelekinz Baby image is just one of them! This cracks me up! The minute I saw it, I knew exactly what sentiment I was going to use on the front. Hehehe!

I kept this CAS, and I let the image do the talking. *wink* Har-dee-har-har!.
The border is an EK Success Punch, and the little letter blocks were cuts from my pink alphabet paper. Both papers are from my stash.

Pick up this, and the other new release images, over at the Bugaboo Stamps Store, and make sure you also jump over to the Catch the Bug Challenge Blog: it's where you can find out all the lastest "dish" on what challenges are happening and what other challenge sites that Bugaboo is sponsoring (more chances to win some free Bugaboo!). It's also where you can check out all the other fantastic DT projects, including the OBG (Oldie But Goodie) stuff, the ABC (Anything But a Card) items, and the Tuesday New Releases......plus so much more!

Anything But A Card at Catch the Bug

Hi, everyone!
If you came for the Bugaboo Birthday Hop, please click HERE!
I do hope you'll visit my other posts for this week, as well. :)

It's an ABC (Anything But a Card) Day over at Catch the Bug, and it's my turn to create something! :0) I always have a difficult time coming up with projects for ABC Day. I had to come upwith a gift for my besties new grandbaby, so I combined todays theme with that goal in mind to come up with this Memory Frame (the frame is a 12x12 that I picked up with a 50% off coupon at AC Moore). The bear in the corner is a Bugaboo Stamps image called Jesse Bear - Topper. I converted the image to an SVG cutting file (with special permission) using my eCal software.

Here's a closer look at the adorable paper piecing:

Babies Are So Sweet

Happy Almost-Friday, everyone!
I did some cutting and creating this week, and have a couple of cutesie baby cards to share with you. These were created on my Silhouette machine. I'm so happy with the way they turned out!

This one is for a boy, obviously! The cutting file I used was actually intended for a girl, and included a flower for adding to the onesies. Well, for a boy, that just wouldn't do, so I used a tiny star from one of my EK Success border punches, instead. :) The dinosaurs are also from an EK Success border punch. My son thought those were the cutest (and he's twenty now, and doesn't think anything is cute! lol!) I added one rhinestone to the star, just for a bit of sparkle.

Anyhow, below is the version of this card that I made for a girl.

For this one, I still did not use the cut file flower; instead, I punched some smaller ones from a tiny Marvy punch that I have. I also punched a small heart with a Martha Stewart punch. I thought the girlie card could definitely use more bling, so there are rhinestones on all three onesies, here.

Thanks for stopping by today! I appreciate comments! :)

Water Baby Scrap Layout

Hi, everyone! Happy Friday!
I have been very busy this week, moving my craft room to a different part of the house, as well as moving my son to another room, and my hubby's hobby room, too. It's been a tough, physical week, as it included not only furniture moving, but rug scrubbing, as well. I had hoped for a little more help from my boys than I received, but.....nope! They just weren't interested! Such brats....lol!
Anyhow, I have been waiting for my new set-up to be craft-ready to put together another page layout for my niece's book. I'm very happy to show you this one - I broke some of my own "rules". lol! I used stickers!!! Can you believe it?! lol! I tried to redeem myself by sewing on this layout, too. I was so in love with the base papers when I saw them that I could not layer more papers on them, or cut them up; they were just too pretty!
Now....the sticker thing.....well......I was going to cut and piece all kinds of tropical fish, but I figured since I had these pretty K&Company stickers already in my stash.......why not use them?! No sense in keeping them around if there's a good cause for them, right?! So, there you have it....I sort of went "old school" with that decision. lol! You know, as in pre-cutting machine "old school"?! lol!

Below are some closer pics of the pages on their own, as well as a close up of my title, and the sewn mat that I made.

I think the pages can be used for either beach, pool or bath tub pics. :)

ABC day at Catch the Bug!

Hi, everyone!
It's an ABC (Anything But a Card) Day over at Catch the Bug, and it's my turn to create something! :0) I always have a difficult time coming up with projects for ABC Day, but I recently started working on a scrapbook project, so this page definitely qualifies!  :0)
You may recall a couple other pages I've showcased in the past few months for this same scrapbook I'm working on for my sister and niece. My goal is to have a full book of pre-made pages for her to add the photos to done by Christmas!

This is a double layout using the Bugaboo Stamps image, Baby Cow - Moon.

PLEASE NOTE:
It is noted in the Bugaboo Stamps Terms of Use that creating die-cuts without express permission is not allowed. ALL MY PAPER PIECED DIE-CUTS WERE CREATED WITH PERMISSION!

I have included some photos below, closer of each page.

I changed the digi stamp to an svg in my eCal program so I could cut and paper-piece.
There is a ton of inking and outlining done on the cow! Phew!
I created the title, mats and layered clouds in eCal, as well (not from an image).
When making premade paages, I always make sure that embellishes that overlap the photo mats are attached to the page with pop-ups, and that the pop-ups are located so that the photo can still slide into place properly on the mat. My mats on this layout are 4-1/2", so up to a 4-1/4" photo will fit fine, but I'm hoping my sis uses a 4" square on them so you can still see the pretty pink hearts - the hearts on the paper are a beautiful gloss! :0) (I will be adding post-it photo size suggestions to the page covers for sis to work by before I send it to her. I'd hate for her to have to measure every photo mat in the book!).

So, that's it for me today! I hope you like what you see!

A Beary Sweet New Release at Bugaboo Stamps!

It's Tuesday.......time for a Bugaboo Stamps New Release! Jodie's been hard at work on some great images, and this beary sweet baby bear is just one of them!
I CAES'd the sketch from NanaConnie, from Grammy's Attic, whom CASE'd it from her friend, Lynn! :0) It's a sweet, CAS sketch, don't you think?
I used a technique for the background that I learned about from Kittie Kraft. It's called Belleek Inspired Technique, and there's a great step-by-step on SCS.
