Fishing

It's Tuesday.......time for a Bugaboo Stamps New Release! Jodie's been hard at work on some great images, and this Kidz Boy - Fishing image is just one of them! I think he is the cutest! Perfect for a masculine card, and with Father's Day on the horizon.....well, here's my card! :)

I typed up the sentiment in PSE, as well as colored my image in PSE. I used a new die from Simon Says Stamp, A2 Curved Edge, to create the curves of my papers. My papers are really old. I have had these in my stash since my early days of scrapping, which started back in 2002. I cut the hook, worm and bobber from a retired Quickutz die, called Fishing Pole. The string is CTMH Waxy Flax, which is much like dental floss, waxy and easily "moldable". I attached it to my card using Glossy Accents. I put a few drops of Stickles Star Dust on the fish and the flies, just to give them a bit of sparkle.

Pick up this, and the other new release images, over at the Bugaboo Stamps Store, and make sure you also jump over to the Catch the Bug Challenge Blog: it's where you can find out all the lastest "dish" on what challenges are happening and what other challenge sites that Bugaboo is sponsoring (more chances to win some free Bugaboo!). It's also where you can check out all the other fantastic DT projects, including the OBG (Oldie But Goodie) stuff, the ABC (Anything But a Card) items, and the Tuesday New Releases......plus so much more!

Play! An Oldie But Goodie at Catch the Bug

Hi, everyone!
Thursday's are Oldie But Goodie Days at Catch the Bug Blog
I love OBG day because I can break out some of my favorite Bugaboo Stamps to play with, and have an excuse to show them on my blog! lol! (As if I need an excuse, right?!)

Today I am using the Bugaboo Brats - Sean Dog from Bugaboo Stamps.  I'm not sure about you, but I love Bugaboo images for their "cute" factor! The Brats images have always been able to put a smile on my face! This one is no exception!

I colored up my image in PSE, and did a few digital effects on the wagon and tires, adding a little bit of texture to my colors (you'll need to enlarge the image on your screen to see them, I think). I used one of my Spellbinders A2 Curved Borders dies to cut the different dp curves, as well as the mail image curve. I used my Silhouette to do a Print and Cut for the sentiment banner - it is actually a full banner, but I ended up cutting off one end to shorten it up after I cut it out. I added a couple of old dew drops with some Glossy Accents. I love the new enamel dots everyone is using, and had thought about trying to melt my dew drops (I have a ton, and hardly ever use them! I don't like how far off the page they are). I'm not sure they will melt as flat as I'd like, but maybe on a non-rainy day, when I can vent the house, I'll give it a try. If it works, I'll certainly let you know! :)

Be on the lookout for the upcoming Bugaboo Christmas in July Week Long Celebration! This is always a favorite, with lots of FREE images given away for participating in our challenges that week! I'll have more details on that as the date draws nearer.

Also, I am now assisting the DT Coordinator with some of the more routine things at Catch the Bug Blog to fill in some time for our wonderful Ms. Min, who is expecting Baby #1, and is happily preparing for the arrival! I'm helping out with some posting duties, and I'm also helping out by choosing a Bugaboo Stamps Fan of the Month! So......if you're a fan of Bugaboo Stamps (and who isn't, right?!), make sure you're posting your Bugaboo cards on your blog because I'm poking around Blog-land looking for YOU! :)

It's New Release Day at Bugaboo Stamps

It's Tuesday.......time for a Bugaboo Stamps New Release! Jodie's been hard at work on some great images, and this April Word Art image is just one of them!

I kept this CAS, and I let the image do the talking.
I typed up the sentiment in PSE, as well as colored my image in PSE. I used my old-school scallop scissors to cut the top of my printed image, did some doodling on it, and used pop dots on both pieces, with a pretty polka-dot dp beneath them, for dimension. I added some Glossy Accents on the rain drops, and I added some Cloud9 Design Acrylic Rain Drops.

This card features the image Deacon Bugs from Bugaboo Stamps. I have had this card in my head for quite a while, which was inspired by a sheet of paper I had in my stash. I actually ended up not using that paper on this card! lol! It has already been cut down several times for other projects, and the strip that was left just did not suit what I was thinking on this one. So, even though it is not on my creation today, it was a driving force for how this turned out. :)

I started by coloring Deacon in PSE, and I created my sentiment there, as well. I printed them both out and used my Silhouette for doing Print and Cut. I made the red layers for my images in Silhouette, too. The bugs were all cut in Silhouette, as well. They are something I had made up quite some time ago. They're cut quite small, so I actually opened up a new mat for cutting (my old one has finally given up the sticky), and I made sure to set my cutter to the slowest speed. When cutting such little pieces I always try to use high-quality paper. I hate it when the cutter just won't handle some papers, don't you?! Those little 'paper boogers' bug me!
I did use a black pen for adding some details to the bug cuts. I think the lines gave the ladybug and cricket more personality. :)
So, that's it from me today, folks! I hope your Spring weather is turning sunny and dry in your area!

Now it's your turn to pick a favorite image, or try something new from Bugaboo Stamps, whip up your project and head on over to enter it into the Mr. Linky!

By entering your project, you could win up to TEN Bugaboo images!
Head on over to Catch the Bug to play along!

An Oldie But Goodie (OBG) - Caught a Bug?!

Today I am using the Jesse Bear Bug Jar image.  I think Jesse Bear is my favorite Bugaboo Stamps Bear. I just love his oversized hat! It reminds me of when my son was a little guy. He loved wearing hats, and he had one that reads "#1 Son" on it. Of course, the joke is that he's the ONLY son, so that hat was saved, and currently resides in my closet "basket of memories". :) They sure grow up fast, don't they?! Sheesh....time flies!

For my card, i used an old "Stella Says" Sketch. (You can find all kinds of wonderful "Stella Says" Sketches here). This card uses all scraps from my stash. I have been leaving my scrap box out, in a very  easy-to-remember space, so that I will try to go to it before digging into my uncut 12" papers. I actually have four scrap boxes! They are photo boxes, and I sort my scraps as I'm crafting: designer paper scraps, Stampin Up scraps, American Crafts scraps and an "everything else" scrap box. So far, leaving them on my table top is helping me to use them up faster!
I pulled out my Stampin Up Photo Corner Punch and Scallop Border Punch. I also used some Ladybug Buttons that I cut the shanks from before adhering with Glossy Accents. I am leaving the front with no sentiment for now. I was thinking this could be a great card for a little boy, or even a "sorry you caught a bug" card for a sickie.

You can check out all the great images that Jodie has to offer, at the Bugaboo Store here.

Thanks for stopping by today! Make sure to check out the other OBG creations over at Catch the Bug, and visit the Design Team.

Babies Are So Sweet

Happy Almost-Friday, everyone!
I did some cutting and creating this week, and have a couple of cutesie baby cards to share with you. These were created on my Silhouette machine. I'm so happy with the way they turned out!

This one is for a boy, obviously! The cutting file I used was actually intended for a girl, and included a flower for adding to the onesies. Well, for a boy, that just wouldn't do, so I used a tiny star from one of my EK Success border punches, instead. :) The dinosaurs are also from an EK Success border punch. My son thought those were the cutest (and he's twenty now, and doesn't think anything is cute! lol!) I added one rhinestone to the star, just for a bit of sparkle.

Anyhow, below is the version of this card that I made for a girl.

For this one, I still did not use the cut file flower; instead, I punched some smaller ones from a tiny Marvy punch that I have. I also punched a small heart with a Martha Stewart punch. I thought the girlie card could definitely use more bling, so there are rhinestones on all three onesies, here.

Thanks for stopping by today! I appreciate comments! :)
