A New Challenge at Catch the Bug (it's a "must see"!!

It's Saturday, which means a new challenge over at Catch the Bug today! This week's theme was so much FUN for me! I really dove into this one - had the creative juices flowing, and the mental image of the final piece all in my head before I even started pulling out the papers!

This week's theme is a
THEME CHALLENGE - MOVIES!

We want to see something you whip up that is inspired by a favorite (or any, really) movie!
My inspiration for this scrapbook double layout is the movie

It stars Matt Damon (he is so YUM!), and when we first decided to watch it, I really though it would be too "kiddie" for my taste. But.....I was very pleasantly surprised, and totally loved it! It's a great family movie based on a wonderful act of integrity. If you haven't seen it, grab the kids and watch it together - it's so good!

My layout features three images (Monkey, Giraffe, Elephant) from the Bugaboo Stamps Mini Set - Critter Blocks, and the Lion Love image. I colored them in using PSE, and a copy of the
CTMH (Close To My Heart) color chart so I could match the colors to the papers I was using.

This is an image of both 12x12 pages, side-by-side. I normally do not create scrapbook pages without first having my photos, but......and please bear with me while I ramble........ I had this idea in my head for a layout for well over two years! Yes, I said TWO YEARS! LOL!
You see, my hubby, son and I LOVE to go to the zoo. we visit every zoo in every city that we stop in.
A couple years back, I had actually put out an ISO (In Search Of) ad on a forum, looking for the CTMH (Close To My Heart) papers that I've used here, as I never had the opportunity to purchase them before they were retired. Someone graciously agreed to sell me hers, and I had been hoarding them for the right moment.
Well.......having recently seen this movie, and recently moving to Greenville, SC, where there is a small zoo that we have on our schedule of things to do "soon", I knew it was time to tear into the package! :0) I knew Jodie's adorable Critters and Lions would work perfectly for my page layout! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did creating it! :0) Below are additional, closer images of each page and a list of the many materials I used to create these.

Supplies Used
CTMH Expedition Paper Pack Level 2
eClips & eCal Software*
Chipboard
Eyelets
Hemp Twine
Ribbon Tape
Cheery Lynn Tropical Flourish Die
Spellbinders Classic Circles Nestabilities
Scor-Pal
Pop-Dots

*PLEASE NOTE:
It is noted in the Bugaboo Stamps Terms of Use that creating die-cuts without express permission is not allowed. ALL MY PAPER PIECED DIE-CUTS WERE CREATED WITH PERMISSION!

Here is a photo of the left page:

Scrapping Tip: See the beige rectangle? Those are 1/4" scored lines - a great way to create some texture on your page and create a place to do some journaling without having to draw in dark lines for keeping your journaling straight! :0)

Here's my right page:

Looking closer at the enlarged image you can see some hemp twine on the spotted photo mat. This mat is sized to hold a 5x7, tucked underneath the twine, or a 4x6 photo. Even with a 5x7 picture there, the leopard paper will show 1/4" on each side of the photo.
The skewed striped paper is on pop-dots, and is not glued down in the top right corner. This will allow me to place the 5x7 photo beneath the skewed photo mat when I am ready. :0) The skewed photo, as well as the largest leopard square on the right page, will hold up to a 4" square photo, and still leave a 1/4" frame around the picture. The three smaller mats will allow for the 1/4" frame of designer paper if I use a 3-1/4" photo, or smaller.

So, that's it for me this week! Thanks a ton for stopping in! I hope you enjoy my scrapbook layout!
I had so much fun creating it, and I think I just may be working on some more......SOON! lol!

  15. These pages look just as pretty and fun online as they do when I saw them in person. My question....have you gotten to the zoo yet. They just had "Brew in the Zoo" and will soon have Boo in the Zoo.
