A Color Challenge

Hi, everyone! Happy Saturday!
I love Saturday blogging - there are always so many great challenges and creations in blogland on the weekends, and today is no exception; in fact, today is a new challenge day at Catch the Bug Blog, featuring all kinds of sweet Bugaboo Stamps images! Make sure you hop on by to check out all the wonderful DT eye-candy, and we hope you join us for the fun!
This week's theme is a

Color Challenge

These are such beautiful colors! I could really see creating something fun for fall with this palette, but I didn't do that..........I went with a frog image, instead! So, un-seasonal, I know, but he's such a cutie, and I hadn't inked him up, yet, so......here he is. This is the Frog Hi image. You can find it in the Bugaboo Stamps Store, along with a ton of other great images!

I didn't use much of the purple, only on his little toad 'freckles', and a tad of it on the very top of my gradient background that I created using the orange, red and a touch of the purple tones. I added some glossy accents on the eyelids, tongue, fly and his 'freckles'. It gave him a bit more interest. I doodled in the little fly trail using my Zig pen. The main image layer is on pop dots.

Now it's your turn to pick a favorite image, or try something new from Bugaboo Stamps, whip up your project and head on over to enter it into the Mr. Linky!

By entering your project, you could win up to TEN Bugaboo images!
Head on over to Catch the Bug to play along!

Pick up this cute Bugaboo image, and others, over at the Bugaboo Stamps Store, and make sure you also jump over to the Catch the Bug Challenge Blog: it's where you can find out all the lastest "dish" on what challenges are happening and what other challenge sites that Bugaboo is sponsoring (more chances to win some free Bugaboo!). It's also where you can check out all the other fantastic DT projects, including the OBG (Oldie But Goodie) stuff, the ABC (Anything But a Card) items, and the Tuesday New Releases......plus so much more!

Also, I am now assisting the DT Coordinator with some of the more routine things at Catch the Bug Blog to fill in some time for our wonderful Ms. Min, who is expecting Baby #1, and is happily preparing for the arrival! I'm helping out with some posting duties, and I'm also helping out by choosing a Bugaboo Stamps Fan of the Month! So......if you're a fan of Bugaboo Stamps (and who isn't, right?!), make sure you're posting your Bugaboo cards on your blog because I'm poking around Blog-land looking for YOU! :)

Happy Crafting!

A Color Challenge at Catch the Bug

Hi, everyone! Happy Saturday!

Color Challenge

Such bright, cheery, spring colors, right?! Well, I have to confess that I was a bit intimidated by this one! I don't normally combine oranges and reds.....they're so tough, don't you think? But.....if I can pull this off, I know you can! :)

I used one of the cute Rainy Day Bears by Bugaboo Stamps, and the clouds are from the Create a Scene Butterfly Spring collection. These have both been around for quite some time, but how perfect for rainy spring weather! This one is called Rainy Day Bear Rain Rain, but because there are several more images in this collection,  be sure to head over to check them all out! I know you're going to want to scoop some up for yourself!

While this looks clean and simple, it actually wasn't as "simple" as I had hoped when I first decided to use the open cut-out card base. It took me some time (like, three hours!), to line the images and sentiments up in the Silhouette Studio Software. I'm glad I made it, though; I saved my file so I can go back and use the card base and front, again, for a later project. :)

Here's an image of the inside of the card, and a closer look at the rain drops (a bit blurry, but I think you can see the detail, regardless).

One more thing before I wrap this up....be on the lookout for the upcoming Bugaboo Christmas in July Week Long Celebration! This is always a favorite, with lots of FREE images given away for participating in our challenges that week! I'll have more details on that as the date draws nearer.

Gorgeous sunset!

Hi, everyone! Happy Saturday!

Color Challenge

Oh, these colors are so gorgeous, aren't they?! I could really get lost in that sunset in the photo, and can only to hope for that dreamy vacation!
I came up with this Tropical Santa Scuba card.  There are some additional great summertime Tropical Santa, and some other super images, too, in the Bugaboo Stamps Store. Be sure to head over to check them out! I know you're going to want to scoop some up for yourself!

For my card, I chose to use some new Echo Park Papers from their Paradise Beach collection. I kept this card simple, clean and easily mailable. It's an A2 size, and can be sent using a single stamp. The two little glittered gems I added are very low profile, so this can go into a standard A2 envelope. :)

Now it's your turn to pick a favorite image, or try something new from Bugaboo Stamps, whip up your project and head on over to enter it into the Mr. Linky!

By entering your project, you could win up to TEN Bugaboo images!
Head on over to Catch the Bug to play along!

Please check out the rest of the Design Team goodies while you're there! These peeps are filled with talent, full of good tips and ideas......and loaded with eye-candy-inspiring ideas! I am so honored to be part of the group!

Here's my card for todays challenge:

I've used the Bugaboo Stamps image, WINTER CIRCLE SENTIMENT JINGLE
I was happy to find the polka-dotted raspberry paper in my scrap box, and it was large enough for me to cut with one of my new Marvelous Squares Spellbinder dies. I changed the color of the digi to a chocolate brown before colring it in browns and the raspberry color. I left the text a raspberry color to let it standout from the rest of the image a little more.
A few MS branch punches made for some good dark greenery, which I accented with some tiny cream and chocolate colored pearls.
Here's a close up of the greenery.
