Final Post as Guest Designer for From the Heart Stamps

Hello, everyone!
I hope you are having a wonderful day! I am very excited to share this weeks card post as Guest Designer for From the Heart Stamps! This is my last post as their guest, and I have had such a wonderful time helping them show off the wonderful digi stamps from their shop, and I hope you've had a chance to join them in their sketch challenges, like I have!

Not only does From the Heart Stamps have some incredibly adorable images, but at From the Heart Stamps Blog a sketch challenge is hosted regularly. It is called a Sketch Challenge with a tWiSt: a sketch is provided, but so is an additional requirement. Don't worry.....no need to feel overwhelmed with rules and restrictions! You can choose to use the sketch, OR you can create using the tWiSt....or you can do BOTH! :)
Here is the current sketch:

Sketch with a tWiSt #075
tWiSt: Use Buttons

The sketch challenge for this sketch is open for two weeks, starting today, giving you plenty of time to whip up your take on this one!

Here's a really cool thing about these sketch challenges: EVERYONE IS A WINNER! You can earn a $1 discount code toward any digi image in their store. No, not by being a random winner, but just by entering! And even better, yet.......you can use multiple codes toward purchases in their store! So, if you play three weeks in a row, you can buy a new digi for only $ .50! Play four times in a row, and "buy" a new digi with all four of your codes without spending a dime out of your own pocket!
See......I told you that everyone is a winner there! :)

Here's another cool thing about From the Heart Stamps.......they also run a month-long challenge in addition to their sketch challenges. "Why is that cool?" you ask??? Because if you use the monthly image, you will be emailed next months image
FOR FREE!

Okay....now that I've explained my excitement about this great digi-stamp company, let's move on to my card for this week.  This week I have used the sketch, and I used the tWiSt.........sort of! You see, my buttons are not plastic, real buttons, but made of paper. I punched them using my Martha Stewart punch, which also embosses them at the same time. :)

I chose to play with the ever-so-suave Mice Surprise image on my card. I colored my image digitally, with PSE. This sketch was a CAS type, so I kept my card as a CAS card. My papers are from my stash; something I picked long ago at a store-closing sale. I was sorry to see the store go, but happy to partake in the great discounts! :)

A BIG thank you to the wonderful DT at From the Heart, and especially to Faith, the wonderful illustrator behind the images I've shown you, and to Imke, their Guest DT coordinator, for giving me the opportunity the past couple months! :) See you all in blogland!

I hope you enjoy your day! I appreciate you stopping by, and would love it if you'd leave a comment!
I hope you'll join us for the sketch challenge!
Thanks for stopping!

Sketch with a tWiSt #074
tWiSt: Paint! (watercolor or acrylic)
This sketch was first posted on Monday, July 7, and this is just a friendly reminder that you should join in! The sketch challenge for this sketch is open until July 27 to give the DT a little bit of a summer vacation. Plenty of time is left for you to whip up your take on this one!
Here's a really cool thing about these sketch challenges: EVERYONE IS A WINNER! You can earn a $1 discount code toward any digi image in their store. I chose to play with the ever-so-suave French Mustache Birdbrain image on my card. I colored my image digitally, with PSE. This sketch was a CAS type, so I kept my card as a CAS card. I used a couple of papers that were pieces from a previous project. They were lying on my desk, just lost, it seemed, and were perfect size scraps for this, so I grabbed them up!

I hope you enjoy your day! I appreciate you stopping by, and would love it if you'd leave a comment!

I chose to play with the super chic French Mustache Birdbrain image on my card. I colored my image digitally, with PSE. I cut it out, and embossed it, using a Spellbinders Classic Circles die. I had these great papers from old Sizzix Sizzlets pads in my stash, and I grabbed several to layer my circles.
Instead of a banner or border, I chose some black rhinestones and a die-cut sentiment, which I cut with my Silhouette Portrait machine.
I am digging this little chick.....he's way too cute, I think!

Sketch with a tWiSt #071
tWiSt: Spotlight Technique

Here's a really cool thing about this sketch challenges: EVERYONE IS A WINNER! You can earn a $1 discount code toward any digi image in their store. No, not by being a random winner, but just by entering! And even better, yet.......you can use multiple codes toward purchases in their store! Okay....now that I've explained my excitement about this great digi-stamp company, let's move on to my card for this week.  I really struggled this week with the sketch. it was one of those sketches that just was not falling in line with Mr. Mojo, you know?! Add on the fact that it was a last-minute card coming home from a vaca only two days prior to deadline.......well, enough whining, right?! Let's get on with it! lol!

This week I am using the sketch AND the tWiSt. :)

I chose to play with the super chic Bunny Hello image on my card. I colored my image digitally, with PSE. I did do the Spotlight Technique, using a window shape. I created my card base, window layers and 'hello' with my Silhouette Portrait. I added a few punched butterflies and some rhinestones to bling it up a bit.
The inside of the card contains my image and a sentiment.

Guest Designer at From the Heart Stamps - A Sketch Challenge!

Hello, everyone!
I hope you are having a wonderful day! I am very excited to share my second post as Guest Designer for From the Heart Stamps! Woohoo!
I am having a great time playing along with their talented design team each week!
Not only does From the Heart Stamps have some incredibly adorable images, but each week at From the Heart Stamps Blog a sketch challenge is held. Here is this weeks sketch:

Sketch with a tWiSt #070
tWiSt: Use an Animal of Some Sort

Here's a really cool thing about this sketch challenges: EVERYONE IS A WINNER! You can earn a $1 discount code toward any digi image in their store. No, not by being a random winner, but just by entering! And even better, yet.......you can use multiple codes toward purchases in their store! Okay....now that I've explained my excitement about this great digi-stamp company, let's move on to my card for this week.  This week I am using the sketch AND the tWiSt. :)

I chose to play with the sweet little Balancing Hearts image on my card. I colored my image digitally, with PSE. I cut it out, and embossed it, using a Spellbinders Classic Scalloped Rectangle die. I had these great papers in my stash, and I love the whimsical design of them. I don't normally use light colored papers without a pop of bold color, but for this card, that's exactly what I did......excluding my image, that is. :)
My Lattice Heart is a Martha Stewart Punch, as is the little Vine Heart. The tiny Heart Border is, too. The "Love" word is a plastic flat-back that I had from a packet that I purchased long ago. I had grabbed it from a clearance rack at a JoAnn store. I love shopping the entire JoAnn store for things to use on paper! :) I adhered it with some Glossy Accents, and called this "Done!".

I hope you enjoy your day! I appreciate you stopping by, and would love it if you'd leave a comment!

Guest Designer at From the Heart Stamps

Hello, everyone!
I hope you are having a wonderful day! I am very excited, as this is my first post as Guest Designer for From the Heart Stamps! Woohoo! You may remember my announcement from a while back......I will be Guest Designing each week on their blog, alongside some very talented ladies, for the months of June and July! I can't wait to show you all the goodness!

Not only does From the Heart Stamps have some incredibly adorable images, but each week at From the Heart Stamps Blog a sketch challenge is held. It is called a Sketch Challenge with a tWiSt: a sketch is provided, but so is an additional requirement. Don't worry.....no need to feel overwhelmed with rules and restrictions! You can choose to use the sketch, OR you can create using the tWiSt....or you can do BOTH! :)
Here is this weeks sketch:

Sketch with a tWiSt #069
tWiSt: ONE for the KIDS

Here's a really cool thing about this sketch challenges: EVERYONE IS A WINNER! You can earn a $1 discount code toward any digi image in their store. No, not by being a random winner, but just by entering! And even better, yet.......you can use multiple codes toward purchases in their store! Okay....now that I've explained my excitement about this great digi-stamp company, let's move on to my card for this week.  As you can see, I used the sketch, but not the tWiSt this week.

I chose to play with the adorable little Thimble Bouquet image on my card. I also used the included sentiment. I have colored my image digitally, in PSE. I used my Spellbinders Classic Squares dies to cut out and emboss my image, and an additional white mat for it. I set up a cutting file in my Silhouette Portrait machine to cut my circles on the white background, then created a "shadow" layer to cut them on the pink paper. The floral layer is actually my base layer. I added one of the pink negative cuts (the pink circle) on the top of the white, but below my image, and used a scissor charm to play off the thimble and spool of thread in the image. The green strip of paper was a piece in m scrap box.

I hope you enjoy your day! I appreciate you stopping by, and would love it if you'd leave a comment!
I hope you'll join us for the sketch challenge!

Bossy Stella is at it Again!

It's Sunday, the "every-other" kind at Catch the Bug, and time for another
Stella Says Sketch Challenge
#206

For my card today, I've used the Bugaboo Stamps image called Coffee Time - May Your Cup. Instead of using the sentiment that is included with the image, I used one of the hearts off the mug, enlarged, and added some glossy accents to it to make it shine. I also added glossy accents to the hearts on the mug and the one in the steam.
My image is colored in PSE, and I added some texture to the yellow band on the mug, trying to give it a similar appearance to the paper I used for the scallop border, which has been punched with my SU border punch. The papers I have used are from the So Sophie 6x6 paper pad by MMe. I just love the colors in this, and while they may be geared more for fall, I thought they were perfect for warming a friends heart with this coffee image. :)

Here's the current Stella sketch to follow. We'd love to have you play along with the challenge, and hope that this sketch provides you the inspiration you need!
