Time-tested Friendship

This page is was created around a poem that I wrote in 1989. The script reads'
"Everlasting Friendship
What made us friends so long ago,
When we first met?
I think I know: the Best in me adn the
Best in you hailed each other -
deep down we knew -
That always and forever,
since life began,
that our becoming friends was
all part of God's plan"

The photos are of my friend, Jen, and I. The older photo was taken on a freshman trip to Niagara Falls with our Symphony Band in 1987. The more recent photo is from my birthday this year (Jan 1).
Jen and I have known each other since the fourth grade, when her and her twin sister moved into my school district. Jen and I quickly became friends, and through the years had the kind of friendship that you would expect from two girls growing up. In our sophomore year, Jen was transferred to a private school, and we lost contact. In October 2009 I "found" her on Facebook! Needless to say, we have quickly picked up where we left off, like we never missed a day. It has been a true joy to my heart to have become part of her life again! Love you, girl! :)
