Just Because.....An Oldie But Goodie

Hi, everyone!
Thursday's are Oldie But Goodie Days at Catch the Bug Blog
I love OBG day because I can break out some of my favorite Bugaboo Stamps to play with, and have an excuse to show them on my blog! lol! (As if I need an excuse, right?!)

Today I am using the Cute Butterfly from Bugaboo Stamps.  I think this little guy is absolutely adorable, and wanted to create a card for my stash with him. I like making plenty of "Just Because" cards to keep on hand for when I want to jot a note to a friend, drop it in the mail, and provide them with a smile. :)

I printed up my image and sentiment in PSE. I didn't use any dies or cut files in this card, keeping everything quick, clean and simple. The tiny baner was handcut from a scrap of the striped paper that I used on the bottom of the card, and I used a K&Company rhinestone flower that I've had in my stash.

That's it from me today! I hope you enjoy your weekend!

On a side note: I am now assisting the DT Coordinator with some of the more routine things at Catch the Bug Blog to fill in some time for our wonderful Ms. Min, who is expecting Baby #1, and is happily preparing for the arrival! I'm helping out with some posting duties, and I'm also helping out by choosing a Bugaboo Stamps Fan of the Month! So......if you're a fan of Bugaboo Stamps (and who isn't, right?!), make sure you're posting your Bugaboo cards on your blog because I'm poking around Blog-land looking for YOU! :)

Stella Says Sketch #208 at Catch the Bug Blog

It's Sunday, the "every-other" kind at Catch the Bug, and time for another
Stella Says Sketch Challenge
#208

For my card today, I've used two of the Bugaboo Stamps images from one of the Mini Sets. The Mini Set I pulled the sentiment and flowers from is called is called Mini Set - Flower Garden. As you can see from the sketch below, I changed around placement of the image and the sentiment. I wanted the sentiment to be large, and the card statement.
I created the floral tag for the sentiment in my Silhouette software, and I did some Print and Cut technique with the sentiment and flowers. My leafy vine is a Cheery Lynn Die,
Mini Fanciful Flourish - B117S. I added a touch of Stickles, Star Dust to the flower centers, and to the small flower on the sentiment. My border was punched with an EK Success punch.

Here's the current Stella sketch to follow. We'd love to have you play along with the challenge, and hope that this sketch provides you the inspiration you need!

Whippin' Up some Spring with a Recipe Challenge at Catch the Bug

It's Saturday, which means a new challenge over at Catch the Bug today!

It's all about the
Recipe
We want to see
4 Layers (at least), Ribbon, and a Flower

My card features an oldie Bugaboo Stamps floral image, Mini Set - Flowers
I used the FB5  image from this set. There are many pretty flowers to choose from in this set, but I was drawn to this one because of the butterfly and ladybug that are included in the image. I already knew that I was going to use the Silhouette cutting file for the bee frame, so I thought the extra little bugs would be a great addition!
To start, I layered some pretty MME dp on black, then added that to my white card base. I had punched my black card stock using a Martha Stewart punch, and added some 1/2" black and white flower ribbon from my stash.
I colored my image in PSE, and took it into my Studio program to do a Print to Cut for my base of the frame. Then I cut the yellow layer of the frame, and then the black. I used Glossy Accents to glue it all together. I added some glossy accents to the ladybug dots, head and the butterfly wings to give them some dimension. I put a few dabs of Stickles Star Dust glue on the floral centers for just a touch of bling. The frame is attached to the card with pop dots.
I typed up my sentiment in PSE, and then took that into my Studio program to do another Print to Cut.  I cut some flowers (sorry, not sure where I found that cut - they've been in my files for a very, very long time!).  I used some pretty pearl brads to attach the flowers to my sentiment. My sentiment is attached to the card with pop dots.

Here's a closer look at the Glossy Accents and Stickles that I used on the main image.

A Wonky Oldie But Goody (OBG) with Bugaboo Stamps

Hi, everyone!
Thursday's are Oldie But Goodie Days at Catch the Bug Blog
I love OBG day because I can break out some of my favorite Bugaboo Stamps to play with, and have an excuse to show them on my blog! lol! (As if I need an excuse, right?!)
Today I am using the Computer Friends from Bugaboo Stamps.  I had to laugh when I first saw this image with it's matching sentiment: you see, since I have moved, this completely defines my life! lol! I am so grateful for email and Facebook because it allows me to stay in touch with my friends. My visits home have become less frequent the past two years, and the times spent face-to-face, which I cherish greatly, are very missed. So, I felt like this image and sentiment were created just for me! lol!

My card did not turn out quite like I wanted it to. I accidentally placed my sentiment layer in the wrong position on the card, but it will have to do! I just had too much glue on it to be able to move it, so there it sits! I grabbed a piece of dbl-sided paper for my card dp. I also grabbed some brown and red scrap out of my box. I used several punches on this card: Martha Stewart Lattice Heart, Multiple Heart and the Heart Border punches. I used several Spellbinders dies, too: Wonky Squares, Fleur de lis Rectangles, and A2 Matting Basics. The Stickles, Star Dust, added a little bit of bling to my hearts.

You can check out all the great images that Jodie has to offer, at the Bugaboo Store here.

An Oldie But Goodie (OBG) for a Friend

Hi, everyone!
Thursday's are Oldie But Goodie Days at Catch the Bug Blog
I love OBG day because I can break out some of my favorite Bugaboo Stamps to play with, and have an excuse to show them on my blog! lol! (As if I need an excuse, right?!)
Today I am using the Mini Sets from Bugaboo Stamps.  The set I pulled the sentiment and image from is called Mini Set - Roses. In addition to the image and sentiment I have used on my card, it includes another floral image, and two more sentiments! A great value from Bugaboo Stamps!

I chose the roses in the vase, and the pretty sentiment about a friend and combined them to create my card front (inside of my card is left blank). I kept this card clean and simple, thinking that the Floral Oval Spellbinders die I used as a mat would really help set off the the idea behind the card. I layered the image, cut from Spellbinders Ovals die, on pop-dots to give it some additional dimension. The background is cut from Spellbinders A2 Matting Basics, and I embossed all my layers for the added edge to each. I added some Stickles, Star Dust, to the flowers, leaves and dragonfly to give the card a bit of a bling.

You can check out all the great images that Jodie has to offer, at the Bugaboo Store here.
