*Second Post Toady* WHAT is THAT?! lol!

Happy Easter Weekend!

This is my second post today, so if you are looking for my Bugaboo Stamps Bingo post, please scroll down!

I am still dealing with grey skies and rain this morning, so decided to sit down and do some digital "playing around" in my PSE, again.
I'm using the same set of images as I did on my post last night, Stampin' Up Brushstroke Hummingbird, which I have scanned into my computer so I can play digitally with them.

Usually when I make cards I am following a sketch, or challenge guidelines. The cards I have to show you today were made for a different reason, though. You see, my mom and dad are business owners: she owns a landscape company, and he is a licensed builder and does home renovating and deck building, and such. They work together, so in the months with appropriate weather they are outside doing landscapes and hard-scapes, and in the colder months they work indoors. Anyhow, a long time ago (I'm talking a decade ago), I had made up a bunch of cards for my mom to use for thank you notes, or 'whatever'. This was back when I was first starting out with stamping. Well, my mom being my mom, she still has a lot of those cards. Why?? Because they're terrible!! lol! They lack any sense of style! Seriously, it's laughable how bad they are! I know she has them because every couplem onths she will have to send me some money (I do some graphic work for her), and she always puts it in one of those awful cards. It's become sort of a joke between us, a "look how far you've come" in terms of creative growth.
Anyhow, here are some new cards I made her, with a note telling her to throw those 'uglies' away! lol! I know.....you're probably wanting to see that ugly card, aren't you?! Well, it's posted toward the bottom of my post for you.....and don't worry, I'm completely not offended when you laugh at it! lol! ;)

The hummingbird card uses the images the same way I did in yesterdays card. The bumblebee card uses the flowers the same way, but.....obviously, I used the bee instead of the hummingbird, this time. I added the little bee trail, it is not part of the stamp image.
I used my Spellbinders A2 Curved Borders for my main image and the open scallop border. My papers are some very old Sizzix Little Sizzles, Watercolor papers.

I colored all my lines, and I had sized three different digital stamps of the flower vine to create the cluster on my card. I had to rotate the images a bit to fit them into place where I wanted to. If you enlarge the image to look closer, you should be able to see the two different green tones on the stems and leaves.

Okay....so I promised a pic of the 'ugly'......here it is!
Enjoy the giggle! lol! I sure did!
Torn edges, stamped on lilac?? Whaaaaat was I thinking?! Now you all know why I do things digitally and don't stamp or color! lol!
(You'll notice that I've digitally reversed my hummingbird in my new cards. I forgot to mention that above).

Quick and easy, clean and simple....with a touch of BINGO!

It's Saturday, which means a new challenge over at Catch the Bug today! We are hosting our monthly B-I-N-G-O Card Challenge

Without further ado , here is this weeks Catch the Bug
Bingo Card:

Isn't this BINGO Card the coolest?! So many choices!
You may choose three squares: horizontal, vertical, or diagonal!

I chose to the diagonal requirements from top right to bottom left for my card this week
Flower, Die/Punch and Player's Choice - my choice is a Bugaboo Image (of course!).
My card features the Bugaboo Stamps Mini Set - Flowers images.I used two of the images included with this set.

I kept this clean and simple. It was inspired (heavily!) by Jamie's card at Alice's (lLittle) Wonderland.
I cut my sentiment out with my Studio software using Print to Cut technique, and it is adhered with pop dots to give just a bit of dimension. While Jamie left her card as a one-layer, I didn't like the way mine looked when I tried to overlap the sentiment over my flowers: it cut off too much of my image for my taste (though I LOVE hers!), so......there you have it! Super quick and easy today! :)

There are more super in the Bugaboo Stamps Store
Hop on over and check them out! Don't forget to look at all the New Images this Month, and the Sale Section! There's always something great happening at Bugaboo Stamps!

So, let's see your card this week! Pick your BINGO daubs (you can go horizontal, vertical or diagonal), whip up your project and head on over to enter it into the Mr. Linky!

By entering your project, you could win up to TEN Bugaboo images!
Head on over to Catch the Bug to play along!

Please check out the rest of the Design Team goodies while you're there! These peeps are filled with talent, full of good tips and ideas......and loaded with eye-candy-inspiring ideas! I am so honored to be part of the group!

A Bit of Digital Fun Today

Happy Easter Weekend!

I am dealing with grey skies and rain today, so decided to sit down and do some digital "playing around" in my PSE to avoid the outdoors.
First, I scanned in my stamped images from an old Stampin' Up set, Brushstroke Hummingbird. This set is from back in the day when I was a demo for SU. I love it. It is so pretty.......very "doodle-y"! :)

I colored all my lines, and I had sized three different digital stamps of the flower vine to create the cluster on my card. I had to rotate the images a bit to fit them into place where I wanted to. If you enlarge the image to look closer, you should be able to see the two different green tones on the stems and leaves. That was a bit of trickiness to achieve, but I'm glad I was patient with myself
I really like the way it looks. I added a typed sentiment, and few tiny rhinestones on the bottom, and a strip of a pattern I printed up.

That's it from me today. I hope you'll come back to visit again tomorrow, when I post my weekly Saturday Challenge card for Catch the Bug Blog !

From the Heart

Hello, everyone!
I hope you are having a wonderful weekend (or beginning, if it's already Monday when you read this!). It was a gorgeous weekend here, in SC, and it was wonderful to have the sun shining through open windows. It's been nine days since my shoulder surgery, and while I'm doing okay, there is still a lot of PT ahead of me, so I took some time (and it took forever!) to make a card today, before the physical "torture" sessions begin this week. :)

This is Sketch No.#61 that I found at From the Heart Stamps Blog.
Here's the cool thing about their sketch challenges: EVERYONE IS A WINNER! You can earn a $1 discount code toward any digi image in their store. No, not by being a random winner, but just by entering! And even better, yet.......you can use multiple codes toward purchases in their store! So, if you play three weeks in a row, you can buy a new digi for only $ .50! Play four times in a row, and "buy" a new digi with all four of your codes without spending a dime out of your own pocket! See......I told you that everyone is a winner there! :)

Here's another cool thing about From the Heart Stamps.......they run a month-long challenge in addition to their weekly sketch challenges. "Why is that cool?" you ask??? Because if you use the monthly image, you will be emailed next months image FOR FREE!
I happened to have played in last months challenge, so I received this image in my email at the beginning of April. I'm using it for this months challenge, so I'm double-dipping in their challenges with one card. So clever, right? ;)
This months image is the Spring Medley digi.

I have colored my image in PSE. I did some inking and embossing to create the card base layer. I used my Sizzix Floral Lattice folder. I love that one! I seem to use it bunches more than my other folders......okay, maybe not as much as my Swiss Dots folder, but A LOT! I inked the front of the inside of the embossing folder with some Stampin' Up So Saffron ink, then ran it through my Big Shot machine. I love the light yellow color with the white. Soothing! I used my Sihouette cutter for making the Moroccan Flower squares (sorry, I couldn't find it in the store to link to it).
That's it! Time to go rest the shoulder!

I hope you enjoy your day! I appreciate you stopping by, and would love it if you'd leave a comment!
Thanks for stopping!
Happy Crafting!

Stella Says Sketch at Catch the Bug (She's so Bossy!)

It's Sunday, the "every-other" kind at Catch the Bug, and time for another
Stella Says Sketch Challenge
#207

For my card today, I've used the Bugaboo Stamps image from an older release of umbrellas. This one is called Fancy Umbrellas Umbrella 3. I did take a few liberties with the sketch, as you can see. I was in a flower-making mood! :) Hindsight is 20/20 they say.....I wish I had moved the corner flourishes in closer to the image, but.....what can you do?! Once that glue went down for the first corner piece, there was no turning back! lol!
I used a tiny flower punch form Marvy for my flowers, Sizzlits Architectural Accent #3 and Architectural Accent #4, and the Ivy Tendrils die from Memory Box. My oval frames, and my sentiment, were cut with my Silhouette Portrait machine. A few little blue rhinestones were added as flower centers to give a bit of sparkle.

Here's the current Stella sketch to follow. We'd love to have you play along with the challenge, and hope that this sketch provides you the inspiration you need!
