A Western Roundup at Catch the Bug

It's Saturday, which means a new challenge over at Catch the Bug today! This week's theme is a crafter fave:

This week's theme is a
Western Roundup!

We want to see you whip up a goodie using
a western theme. Get out your favorite cowboy/cowgirl images and have a rootin' tootin' good time whippin' up somethin' for the challenge!

My card features one of my favorite Bugaboo Stamps characters, Bugaboo Cowboy! This is the Lasso image. He's hoping to rope you in with his adorable little grin! :)
He's always been one of my favorites to color. I love his cute little face, but those chaps are adorable, too, aren't they?! I kept him very clean and simple, adding only some texture with an embossing folder, and couple of star buttons from my stash. Once I have a better idea where he is headed, I may add a sentiment to the outside, but for now, he is a happy cowboy! :)

Stella's the Boss.....

....and that means it's time for another

Stella Says Sketch Challenge
#106
over at Catch the Bug!
This week's sketch includes creating a Tent-topper Card.
(For a great tutorial on how to make this kind of card, click here).

Here's what I've come up with, using the Bugaboo Stamps image, Cowboy Fence image, which I have altered ~WITH PERMISSION~, of course! :0) (I just want to say that it's never okay to alter an artists digi without permission that I know of! I have yet to see an angel policy that states otherwise.)

This window cut file was from my great friend Cely, of Creating in Carolina. I LOVE this thing, and am positive you will be seeing more of it from me! :0) So versatile!
I used more of my go-to-lately Sizzlits papers on this, and some of my handy punches! I added a metal embellish that I picked up from Michael's clearance bin (for a whopping fourteen cents! Woooo!). The adorable little hat is actually a button that I removed the shank from. My good friend gave me some really cool western charms recently, and this is the first time I've had opportunity to use one! As the cowboy would say......."Yahhhoooo for good friends!" lol! :0)

That's it from me today! Thanks for stopping by.........please stay a while longer, and browse! :0) If you like what I do, why not consider following me? ========== > >

Elisabeth Bell and a Sweet Sketch Wednesday Card

Hi, everyone!
I have been dying to find a challenge that would suit this adorable Elisabeth Bell image, and I found a few! :0) I colored him up for the Elphine House Australia challenge, It's a Boy Thing - Color Challenge.
The theme is to create a card for boys using blues and greens (such yummy colors, I think!). :0)
Here's my card:

I used the Sweet Sketch Wednesday Sketch for Challenge #143 for this. Here's their sketch to follow:

I did some scrounging in my stash for my papers. I had a bunch of old Stampin' Up, and a few I can't recall where from, to use. I grabbed a bunch of punches out of punch drawer, and I layered several of them for the horizontal pieces. I also used my star punches and a ribbon punch to create the ribbon slide. I was thinking of adding a sentiment in that spot, but decided I liked the stars better. :0) That leaves me plenty of options for sending this card out, when I figure out where it's going, that is. lol! I had so much more blue in my paper than greens, so I did some light inking around everything with a Garden Green Stampin' Up ink and dauber.
Thanks for stopping by to take a peek today! Ihope you enjoy my little dreamer! :0)
Happy Crafting!

Back from my trip - a free digi-paper for you

Howdy! :0)
I'm back from my week away, and SO HAPPY to have been able to create a card this morning! Yay!!! I missed my craft room, and all my online friends in the crafty world! I grabbed my coffee and jumped to the PCP and CDAC Bugaboo sites to check out their Wacky Wednesday Challenge #14 for this week, and it's a color challenge. I also checked on their Catch the Bug Challenge Blog, I like to combine the two when I can, and it is a Distressed/Shabby Chic Challenge. Here's what I came up with
Click Picture to Enlarge

For the PCP and CDAC Wacky Wednesday Challenge, here are the colors for this week that we have to use on our projects
My image is from the Bugaboo Stamps Cowboy images, and the Howdy image is a new release from Jodie this week, and on sale for only $ .65 until Aug 26! I colored both in my PSE program.
My fence was punched from my MS punch, using a piece of DCWV Cafe Mediterranean Card Stock.
I used some MME papers, wrinkled it up and rolled it across my ink pad (SU Soft Suede. Then I inked the edges of it, too. That is the paper used for  my base layer. The patterned paper is something I made from different free clip art images that I found online. It's a random pattern, and it is yours as a freebie! :0) It is sized to print as 3-1/2"x5", something I use frequently when making my own patterns to go with designer papers I already have, and the size I use for printing my digi images on. You can cut an 8-1/2" x 11" piece of paper with minimal mess to this size and have 5 pieces of it. This is less waste than using 4x6 pieces for me. :0)
Anyhow, I printed my pattern on a piece of DCWV card stock from the Cafe Mediterranean Stack (cut to 3.5 x 5 for my printer). I tore the edges of it, and inked them with the Soft Suede, as well. I used some hemp twine, braided, to make my rope, and a Stampin' Up Designer Brad from my stash.
I'm still in process of cleaning up my craft room, after moving it to a larger room in my house, so I will be working on that more this week. My son also needs help organizing his space, now that he's home from school to stay (finally!). I have a lot on my plate, but am going to tty to do more creating as soon as I can! Thanks for stopping by! Happy Crafting!
