It's a Lucky Day at Catch the Bug!

It's Saturday, which means a new challenge over at Catch the Bug today! This week's theme is definitely appropriate for the season!

It's all about
Luck!

We want to see you whip up a goodie
that has anything to do with Luck!

I was going to create something with one of my favorite cowboy images, and use some horseshoes to convey the "luck", but I decided to really stretch my cut-file-making skills for todays card. I have been drooling over the latest Elizabeth Crafts die release, and really want the Lots of Pops die! I love that it's so versatile; you can keep some of the pop-ups folded down should you not need them. Well, the cost for this die is not currently part of my budget plan (plus, I pormised hubby I'd try to NOT buy craft stuff this year....ugh! So tough!). I can maneuver my cutting program software quite well (right now, I use Silhouette Studio Designer Edition), so I went to work to create something similar to the die, but as a cutting file. I am quite happy with the way it turned out! It was a lot of fun to jazz up the inside of my card (not something I normally do)! I kept the outside of my card CAS, as you can see. :)
(If you'd like to purchase the file, available in Studio format for Silhouette machines only, please visit the "Cutting Files for Sale" Tab at the top of my blog for info).

My card features the adorable Bugaboo Stamps critter, Edward Elephant! I used the
Edward Elephant - St. Patrick's Day image on the inside of my card. The outside of my card, pictured first, has a sentiment on it that I created in my PSE program. A bit of embossing with a folder, a Martha Stewart punch and a strip of scrap paper is all it took for this part of the card.

Now, here is the inside of my card! I have several pics for you, hoping to convey the dimension of the little scene I made. My Silhouette machine is a dream for printing and cutting my images!

I made the mistake of glueing the insert into the card base after putting some of the embellishes on it, which made it VERY crooked! So, I had to trim my card edges down to clean it up. It was intended to be a 5" square, but now it's a 4-3/4" square. lol!
Here are some additional photos, at different angles.

Here is a closer look at my image. I just love that little chick in the pot! :)

For my card today, I've used the Bugaboo Stamps image, Edward Elephatn - St. Patrick's Day
He is one of my all-time favorite St, Patrick's Day images! So cute and lovable!
For this card, I made all of my dp in PhotoShop using free clip art and patterns from online. I am offering these digipapers to you as a freebie, but ONLY UNTIL ST. PATRICK'S DAY.
After that, the link will be inactive.
I added a few little shamrock stickers I had picked up  (on sale, of course) at Michael's recently, and a few rhinestones for some shine.

Click Here For the Free DigiPaper Download
The file contains two different pattern papers: the shamrocks pattern, and the St, Patrick's Day Hat pattern. Each DigiPaper is sized to 8.5" x 11" and is 300dpi. They are in one folder, and it is a zipped file folder, so you will need to decompress (unzip) the folder when you download it.
These papers are for PERSONAL USE ONLY! If you have any questions regarding the TOU after reading the full pdf that is included in the download, please contact me.

Here's the sketch to follow:

Anything Goes at Catch the Bug and a Free SVG Shaped Card File!

It's Saturday, which means a new challenge over at Catch the Bug today! This is always a favorite among us crafters because it gives us free reign!

This week's theme is
Anything Goes

My card features a Bugaboo Stamps character that Jodie recently released several images of: this is the

This pic shows the shaped cupcake card that is your freebie svg today, for a very limited time (download link available below)!
These SVG files are no longer available for free.
Please visit my SVG's for Sale Page located at the top of this blog.
The pink is actually the envelope, and the card is tucked inside it. Below are more photos to help you see the way it is all put together, as there is not a direction sheet in the file folder download.
The file consists of the folding card base, a "frosting" layer, a "cupcake holder" layer, and the "sleeve" envelope. It also contains a second svg for a card liner (it was an afterthought, and ended up as it's own svg file. :0) )
The file does not have the circle windows cut into it - this is something I did with my Spellbinders. It was a real pain in the behind, and I doubt I'll ever do that again. lol!

This image shows the card pulled out of the cupcake sleeve envelope.
The "Happy Birthday" is a Sizzlit die. I left the top part of "Happy" unglied to tuck the card top into to keep it closed when the whole thing is put together. This could also be done with flowers, brads.....almost any embellish you would like to use!

This pic shows the card opened up. Edward is wishing the recipient a Happy Birthday, and I have left myself some space to write a personal note. :0)
You can see I had a little issue with lining up my frosting and card base circle cuts. They do much better without those darned things! lol! While it was a pain, I am still happy with the way this turned out. I think it could be such an adorable card for a birthday, and can't wait to see what ways I can dream up to decorate my frosting on future cuts!
As always, if you create something with my files, please send me a note - I'd love to see what you do! :0)

So, what your "Anything Goes" this week?! Whip up your project and head on over to enter it into the Mr. Linky!

By entering your project, you could win up to SEVEN Bugaboo images!

It's OBG - Oldie But Goodie - day at Catch the Bug!

Hi, everyone!
Thursday's are Oldie But Goodie Days at Catch the Bug Blog! I used this cute Edward Elephant - St. Patrick's Day image to put together a card fora friend of mine. He has been in the store since earlier this month, and this and the other Edward images are just fabulous, I think! You should definitely go check them out here!

I had some old Sring Stack papers in my stash, and that's what has been used here. I cut the shamrock vine on my eClips (from the Holidays cartridge), and I added some Stickles to bling up the coins, buckle and shamrock embellish. I love the purple with the green and white - I think they are good colors together! :0)
You can check out all the Edward images, and the other great images that Jodie has to offer, at the Bugaboo Store here.
Thanks for stopping by today! Make sure to check out the other OBG creations over at Catch the Bug, and visit the Design Team....you can click on their blog links located in the left side bar of my blog for great Bugaboo eye candy! <<===========
Happy Crafting!
