An Oldie But Goodie, You're Out of this World!

It's time for an Oldie But Goodie over at Catch the Bug Blog! The fantastic, uber-talented DT have all kinds of great inspiration over there, so please stop over for some eye-candy, and to show the teamies that their hard work is appreciated by leaving them a little bit of love! :)

This is a CAS, clean and simple, card. I have been making a TON of CAS cards, as you may have noticed. I'm still trying to diminsih my scrap paper piles, and it's harder to find matching pieces, so fewer, simpler card layouts have been my norm, and probably will be for quite aome time. I do still love making my little die-cut scenes, but those haven't been accompanying my digis, so.......for another time!

Anyhow, my image is called Out of this World Block.I had digitally removed the frame around the image. I grabbed a piece of leftover CTMH paper, from a pack called You Rock!, for this one. I added some Stickles Star Dust to the martian's helmet, and to the asteroid belt around the planet. The dangling stars, the stars of the image, and the little dots on the image are all glazed with Glossy Accents. The swirly die-cut was cut out with my Silhouette, and the stars were the negative from my EK Success Starry Nigh Corner Punch.

Thursday's are Oldie But Goodie Days at Catch the Bug Blog! 

I love OBG day because I can break out some of my favorite Bugaboo Stamps to play with, and have an excuse to show them on my blog! lol! As if I need an excuse, right?!

Today I am using the Martian Planet image.

My hubby and I celebrated our wedding anniversary in May, and this is his card that I made him. The inside defines the cover sentiment, but I can't share that with you......it's a "secret message" between us. lol! ;) I know it's not your traditional mushy-gushy-love card, but we aren't very traditional. Haha!

I decided to dig out my old embossing powders and heat tool for this one. While it took a bit of time to heat emboss all the edges of each layer on the front of this card, I am happy with the outcome! It has been a long time since I have played with the powders, and I had forgotten how the different texture for the edge adds some nice dimension! I hope you like it, too! 

I colored my image with my pencils, and I used Gamsol to blend them. I used some of my new Spellbinders dies for the curved edges, and my papers are all from Bo Bunny. I recently picked up a 6" stack called Blast Off! Such cute outer space/boy papers!
