Scrapbook Layout & a Freebie

Hi, everyone! I've switched gears from making cards to working on my son's scrapbooks. When I first started paper crafting it all began with scrapping. It wasn't until a few years later that I ventured into the world of cards! I used to be a Stampin' Up demonstrator, and then I switched to Close to My Heart products. Now, though, I am simply a consumer......of both! lol! The papers on this layout are from Close to My Heart (CTMH). It is a paper pack called Passages. I made the star-tabbed mats, and those are your freebies for today. :0)

These photos are of my son's JROTC Air Rifle Team from this year. The four-man team he was on qualified for the National Championships that were held at Camp Perry, Ohio in February. They shot in the Sporter Class. (I had posted about this previously, I think). I often have a hard time using more than two or three photos on a page - I like to SEE the photos - but for this layout, I did use several, as you can see. Please let me know what you think - I'd love some feedback on if there are two many, or if the "story" of our trip is told well enough?
The journaling was done in PSE, and the rifle cut-out is from the Cricut cartridge Stand and Salute. It's not the same kind of gun the kids shoot, but it gets the point across, I think! Lol! I will post the other two pages of this event in a separate post. :0)
Thanks for stopping by!

Please leave some love if you enjoy my freebies! I love to hear from you! :) This is how I know you were here, like what you see, and would like to see more!

Free SVG - Yep....another mat! lol!

Obviously, I have been on a roll with creating mat svg's, as this is my fourth in a very short time frame- lol! I hope you don't mind!! I like them - they come in so handy for card making backgrounds! I was tired of not having shape dies large enough to cover my 5x5 cards as a base layer, so I made up a bunch of layered mats to use. This is another one inspired by the "It's a good thing" lady......(I just do not like here. I think she's pompous! Is it just me?!). The file, when opened, is approximately 4-3/4", but can be resized (I recommend clicking the "keep proportions" option in SCAL so your edge shapes don't distort). A great element for scrapbook pages and photo frames, too! :0)
I think I may have posted this one a while back: I can't recall....and if so, I promise a new file next week, but I have added the bottom layer and sized top square to it in this file.
Here's what the layers look like stacked
Here is what the layers each look like on their own

Another mat freebie SVG

Good morning fellow crafty folks! :0)
Was your Easter Weekend busy and full of family, fun and the spirit of the season? Mine was........sort of! I was traveling for a few, a last minute decision due to the need to visit with, and try to aid my son in some soul searching! He's having a rough last marking period at school. :0( Not a good thing.....it's senior year, and there's no bouncing back from a failure! So, off I went - to soothe, discuss, discipline, nurture.......it was a long weekend!
Needless to say, I came home exhausted, mentally, and did some working out to ease some stress. I ended up doing too much because my "bad" shoulder now hurts like mad!! Today I am planning on resting it, and maybe doing some light housework that doesn't require much shoulder action. In the meantime, I did put together an svg! :0)
I had made the heart circle a while back, but this morning I added the additional layers to it, so the folder contains three cuts" a solid base layer, the lacey heart layer and the circle layer for the top (the circle measures 3-1/4"). The file as sized will fit on a 5x5 card, but you can resize it to anything you need for your project. I hope you like it! :0)

A Quick Post to share a Freebie!

Good morning!
I have been busy working out every day, and dealing with "life", so my crafting mojo is on vacation! lol! I don't think I've done much in the way of crafting productivity, lately, but I did make a few svg's! I haven't made the effort to pull out papers and my cutter to do anything with them, but I DID make them! hahaha!
Anyhow, just a quick post today to share one with you! It is completely inspired by the famous "It's a good thing" lady, who sall remain nameless, as I really do not care for her.....but, anyhow.......I do hope you can use this, and would love to see what you do with it, so let me know! :0)
Please post a link to this post if you share a creation on your site that you make with it:  everyone loves a freebie, and isn't it nice to give credit?! :0)

Pirate Anchor SVG Freebie

Hi, everyone!
I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend, so far! I woke up this morning to snow on the ground!! I know.....it's crazy! :0(
I have been busy this weekend.....on Friday I drove to Cleveland with my hubby to pick up my son for his Easter Break. It's a four hour drive, one way, so it was a very long day in the car! I'm glad to see him, and our visit, so far, has been pleasant; of course, it's been all about him the past couple days, so I would expect nothing less! hahaha! We had to take him for a college campus tour on Saturday morning, and that lasted most of the day. It was a decent day, though: the sun was shining, the tour was informative, and Kyle has made his final decision to attend that school, so I am happy that the tours are over! hahaha!
Hubby and child are fast asleep this morning, still, and it's almost 9 am! Sheesh! I have a feeling that my "boys" stayed up into the wee hours playing video games last night! hahaha! I had a little time to myself, so I put this card together:
Created using my Anchor Frame/Mat SVG
It started out as an entry for the Catch the Bug Blog Challenge for Bugaboo Stamps, but since it's an epic failure at monochromatic, I'm not so sure I should post it: maybe had I chose a brown for the anchor.....maybe. I used a Bugaboo Stamps image from the "A Kids View" Collection, which you can find on the Bugaboo Stamps website. I didn't think this collection was up my alley, but now that I colored in the pirate image, I really like it! I'm thinking I may have to pick up a few more!
Anyhow, the Anchor Frame is your freebie SVG today! The download link is located in the sidebar of my blog to the left, titled "Anchor", or you can pick it up HERE. The file contains the Anchor Frame, and also an Anchor Mat. Please adhere to my "Terms of Use" when using my files (there is a copy in the download folder for you)!
I'll be back soon with another card, taht better meets the Monochromatic Challenge! hahaha! I have to redeem myself!
In the meantime, be sure to check out my Blog Candy, and enter for your chance to win!

Thanks for stopping by! Happy Crafting!
