Purple Apologies

Hi, everyone!
A quick post form me this morning, before I head out for my Monday morning errands!
I love my Meljen's Designs images, and never seem to play with them enough, so I am trying to pull them out more. This week, I have this Sweet Little Donkey image on my card. He's being entered into the Anything Goes Challenge over at the Meljen's Designs Blog.

I decided I needed to add an apology card to my stash of cards. Sometimes we just need to say 'sorry', and I thought, "who can resist this little sweetheart?!". So, I colored him up, and used some of my scrap Recollections papers to create the wavy layers. The little purple dot is a melted pony bead (see my quick tutorial here). I used my Spellbinders dies to create the curves.

Paper: Scraps of Recollections

Meljen's Designs 'Girls Just Wanna' Have Fun' Challenge

Happy almost-Friday, everyone!
I am waiting, very patiently, for the local sushi place to open up for dinner! It is gorgeous outside, and hubby and I are heading to our favorite sushi place to get us out of the house. In the meantime, though, I had some time to put together a card for Meljens Designs newest challenge, 'Girls Just Wanna Have Fun'.
I had entered their challenge celebrating their 200th challenge, and I had won! Woohoo! Of course, silly me.....I didn't check the current challenge theme before sending off my image pics for my win. If I had, I may have chosen something a bit more girly for this challenge card. *sigh* Ahhh, well......I had these Sweet Lips, which I had actually picked up as a freebie "way back when". They are now in the Meljen's store here

I did a lot of white-on-white for this, as you can see. I colored up the lips in PSE, added a sentiment, and printed. I layered the main image onto a white sheet with some pop dots, for interest. I cut out the 'xoxoxo' banner with a Silhouette cutting file, and the scalloped hearts are a Spellbinders die from the On the Edge set. A thin strip of a deep red card stock from my scrap for the bottom was added to anchor the card.

That's it! Easy-peasy, right?! I know..... but it was quick and fun! I hope you like it!
Thanks for dropping by! I'm off to tear hubby from his video game so we can hit the sushi bar! Have a great almost-weekend!
Happy Crafting!

Reel Special!

Hi everyone!
I have a confession to make.........I didn't send my dad a card for Father's Day this year!! <*GASP!*>
I know, I know.......how could I NOT?! I mean, it's not like I don't MAKE cards, right?! (hanging head in shame).
In my weak defense, I did call him on the phone! :) I haven't seen him in a while, but hubby and I are taking a trip home next week (the first in almost two years), so we will be spending some time together then. We're supposed to head to the zoo with many of the other family members, so I told him I'd buy him an ice cream while we're there. lol! I know that sounds funny, but if you knew my dad you would know that he LOVES ice cream! lol! There are always at least three or four different kinds in the freezer at his place! lol! AND he stays skinny as a rail!!! Grrrr........
In the meantime, I thought I'd put together a card to take with me for him. Sort of a "non-Father's Day Father Card", if you will. The inside of this one reads,
"You are REEL special to me!".

Showers of Love - Third Post Today!

Hi, again! :0)
Seems that when Mr. Mojo comes on, he comes on strong, like the showers of love in this card! Hehe!
Again, I am digging through my files of digis, and trying to put some color to some older digis that I had never had a chance (or time) to use on a card.
This is a Meljen's Designs image that I picked up as a freebie eons ago, but it is available in her store here. I kept this one clean and simple (CAS), and wanted to use it for her color challenge, so it was perfect for my bright, umbrella paper that I have been hoarding even longer than my digi! lol!

I used a new-to-me MFT Die-Namics for my sentiment, which I typed up in PSE. The die is one from the Sentiment Strips. I also added some bright brads from my stash. Other than that, some basic Nestabilities, and my card is done!
Here's the color palette for Meljen's Blog Challenge:

Thanks for stopping by today! Please stick around for a browse, and if you like my cards and scrapbook pages, please follow me! :0) I love to meet new cyber-peeps!

You Color My World

Happy Sunday, everyone!
I hope everyone is having a relaxing weekend, and enjoying some crafty time today. It snowed yesterday, so there was still a little on the ground this morning, and a tiny bit of ice, because it is "brrrrr!" outside!
I put together this cute card with a Meljen's Designs  Honey Bee Buckets image today. This is a freebie from her store that I have had for quite some time, and am just now inking it up.

Hi, everyone! I'm here to announce the next Stamping with the Dragon Challenge Blog challenge. It's a sponsored challenge, and our wonderful sponsor this time around is Meljen's Designs! :0)
We have a theme to follow, and this week it is
Bling It Christmas.
We want to see your Christmas Bling!

Meljen's Designs is a collection of digital stamps (and more) designed by Melissa Jenkins. It features critters, children, mice, teddy bears and all sorts of fun cuteness.

For my card today, Meljen's Designs offered this adorable Gift Bow Christmas Fairy image for me to play with. I blinged her up with some Stickles Candy Cane and Fairy Dust, and added some 3D Glitter Paint to her outfit (the white stuff). I layered her on a nestie cut red glitter card stock, by DCWV. The dp paper on the right of the card is from my stash, and it's punched on both sides with a MS border punch. I have it layered on top of some red Hershey Kiss foils that I had on my desk (a sweet break in my day! lol!). I added some red satin ribbon and bow, and two pieces of layered embellishes that I have in my stash from a K&Company pack of poinsettia. If you click the pic to enlarge it, you should be able to see just how much bling this little doll has (it's A LOT! I sort of went a little bling overboard!). lol!
I have been a big fan of Meljen's whimsical style for quite some time! Meljen's Designs is sponsoring Stamping with the Dragon! :0)

Hi, everyone! I'm so excited....... today is my Stamping With the Dragon debut! For those of you that missed my cries of joy a couple weeks ago (lol!), I am a new design team member for Stamping Dragon Designs. Woohoo! I couldn't be more excited!

Every other Friday, Stamping Dragon Designs posts a challenge on the Stamping With the Dragon Challenge Blog. This week it is a sponsored challenge, and I was so happy when I found out my first card for the blog would be with a Meljen's image! Yay! I just love her great work! She has some wonderful, whimsical images in her new digi store, Meljen's Designs, so stop by and check her out......right after you stop by the Stamping with the Dragon Challenge Blog to post your entry! :0) You have until October 14th to enter......you don't want to miss your chance to win! The prize up for grabs for this challenge is  Four Free Images from Meljen's Designs! :0)

Melissa (of Meljen's Designs) provided some great images for the Stamping Dragon Designs DT to work with, and we had to use a "Fall Colors" theme. I chose her Country Scare Crow.

My image is colored in PSE. I've been practicing more with shading in the program. I wasn't sure about the purple on this little guy, but I like it now that he's done. What do you think? For my card, I used some new papers from a K&Company stack called "Fall and Halloween" (not very original for that name, huh?! lol!). I just received some new Spellbinders dies, too, so I used those to cut and emboss my main image, the leaves and the flourishes. A couple of brads from my stash, and some of my favorite fall ribbon from my stash, finish this off!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Don't forget to stop over at the store to see all the available Stampin' Dragon Designs images, and be sure to check out the rest of the highlights on my fellow DT's blogs for more great inspiration!
